It looks like you strive to reach that goal, to me at least. But the problem is that colour of the grass is in a odd contrast to the general colour of the map. The colour itself is good for grass, no doubt about it! I think the general light of the map needs to be reduced if you want to keep the colour, that way, you would gain a sort of dusk feel to it, the light is simply to "light" to match the grass.
A simple soloution could maybe be to make it very clouded, maybe even a tiny bit of fog.
I remember playing star quest (tm) when I was very young back in the eary 90'.
Anyway one of my motivations was to paint in some (in my opinio) much needed color contrast because in real life if you walk through a forest on a sunny day there are extreme variations in color and green (and brown, yellow, purple).
The Bf2 engine does not have any HDR to help with this. So I painted some open areas with a very bright green to simulate this. And I think the effect is really nice. For example the are quite some official maps which are not the most ideal example for good lighting:
Asad Khal (oversaturated yellow)
Seriously this map is practially a hit map, but I would dare to predict that people will start to avoid it because of the overly yellow looks of it.
Quai (Reminds me of a toxic waste dump) - Again great map, but the lighting feels very unsettling to me (I would not want to drink water from that river)
Archer (good lighting, however totally brown) -
Fools (Dull uniform green)
Most of these maps suffer because they try too hard to create extreme lightign conditions like sunsets. Sunsets look nice in Crysis, but not in BF2
On the other side some maps are simply 115% perfect in anything they do
Korengal (lighting, color variation)
Basra (most perfect map ever, I can not think of a single rock, building to be placed different. everything just fits)
Fallujah
These maps use normal daylight settings which simply work, because it does not hinder gameplay, and it just looks real.
Because of that I would rather stay away from dusk lighting, because it WILL decrease the amount of people wanting to play my map. Also the map already has some fog, however not too thick, it is supposed to make saturated colors fade off into blue in the distance.
And now everyone is obsessing over my green. I mean I am a bit confused over this. Anyway I can paint over some areas, but can we drop this (fake) attitude shit? because I do not want to reinstall my editor files if this attitude thing is being kept waving in front of me all the time.

different topic:
I was thinking to change the factions from the planned IDF (depending on when the IDF is in PR) vs Insurgents to something different.
The Cache hunting should remain. So it would be either Taliban or Insurgents. However the attacking faction I was having some ideas.
MEC vs Taliban? Id like this idea, because I like MEC gear, however doe MEC have woodland camo?
Or Russia?
(I know this map is too green, colors are nowhere finished)
