Hind looks pretty. Plus the wikipedia section said its vunerable to small arms fire on the tail section (what fun we can have!).

The upgraded Hind kinda looks like those half living half robot transports in HL2.

What do you guys mean by its not a tank hunter? 4/8 AT-6 ATGMs (the other 4 could be Igla missiles) and 80 S-8 rockets? Add the side mounted autocannon from the frogfoot and that thing would rip tanks to pieces.

The balancing point would have to be control. The thing should have heavy armor (they dont call it a flying tank for nothing) yet still be fast but because of limited manuverability, have a predictable flight pattern.

the hind is a heavily armored attack chopper and infantry transport i think it's on of the most kickass chopper out there also if you want to fly one in the game get poe2 or us intervention both have it and will give a good example of what you will get. plus hinds wouldn't work better for the MEC because you can still easily buy a hind (black market or my favorite Russian generals that want a quick buck some really do sell this ****) but so far there are two Hind versions the one with the fixed cannon make for gun runs and the one with the rotating turret made to give closer fire support. but i love this idea and it is still in use by some country's i be leave and are cheap in a way.

here are it's specs. \/

I like the Hind, puts up a nice big heat signature for my Stinger to hit.

As popular as the Hind is, it has some major draw backs.
1st; Not very agile. Very good for charging in and spamming an area, but not very good for tight close air support. Also there are reports of Mi-24's banking to hard and the rotor took off it's tail.
2nd; A fully armed Mi-24 needs at least a short rolling take off. The damn things are very heavy and can't quite make it up with out a good run.
3rd; Things give off a wicked heat signature and are prone to getting smacked by shoulder launched AA missiles. Dis-agree? Read up on the Soviet-Afghan war and see what effects the Stinger had once it was put to the field.

Also, and I'm not sure on this, but I think some variants had a wood tail boom and was very prone to being shot out by small arms fire.

Please don't put words in my mouth, I for one car about grammar  So you may need to edit your post to say "this isn't some dam spelling bee so don't talk about someones grammar because no one but Long Bow gives a dam"

The rest of your post is great, love the specs for the Hind. I to think it would be a nice addtion to the game.

I love the Hind, its been around for a long time and earned its place in history, just the look of it says everything, I once saw a video of one with 3 rocket pods on each side, and i gotta say fuck me, not even the ants would of survived when it unloaded all of them in one volley lol

replace the Mi-28 with this, then we have the Mi-24 and Mi-17, and theres that word again: 'balance' , tbh i wouldnt care, the Mi-24 is more ground attack/transport but is a serious threat to both Air and Armour (more to armour than air though)
but its effectiveness against armour i think makes up for its slight failings against the cobra/apache

Why?

The Mi-28 and Mi-24 are two very different helos. The Hind's primary role is to deliever and provide firesupport to infantry, where as the Havok is a pure tank killer.

I think of it as the Hind is a flying IFV, where as the Havok is a flying tank destroyer.

i thought the hind was a good tank killer

It is, but its not a pure gunship like the Havok or Apache. Its main job is bassically that of a flying IFV. However, its a Russian flying IFV, so its like a BMP-3 in that respect, tooled up to handle anything (within reason).

One option that could be looked at for the implimentation of the hind is having several versions of it. For example, an infantry killer with rockets, gunpods napalm tanks and what not, a tank killer with a mixture of rockets and ATGMs and a "balanced" loadout with a mixture of the above.

It'd be nice to see this ingame and the Hind does have armor capibility but it's not it's primary function.
