Quick question, this is loosely based off the real area, but as a side project I have been working on a 4km actually size replica, would anyone be interested in playing on it? Or just stick with the 2km exaggerated level? I also ran into this problem when fooling with night settings. Anyone have an idea on a fix or want to take a look at the level to help fix it? Just so you are aware I believe this happened when messing with the "light settings"

So what's the map going to be called now? I would really not call it Kandahar, as such a map is already in development by [R-DEV]Hans Martin Slayer.

Not sure, I have 2 versions of the level, ones a 4km replica of the 2001 version, I'm following the intel maps gathers on the airfield from April 2001 and October 2001. What I am curious about is A. Is the a AAS type level already in development or something else? What year is the airfield based on? If I do changed it my 4km version does have a different name, so I could use that version instead of the 2km.

The map is in development (4km btw), gamemodes come later. It will certainly feature Insurgency, but it could also feature AAS, if the mapper chooses to set it up.

It's based on the war in Afghanistan, during the time the Duch Forces were there, so from around 2006 - 2010.

Then I don't see why I couldn't continue my level as long as I just change the name seeing as mine would take place more less that 5 years before, take will look different BECAUSE it took place 5 years ealier and includes a different army with different objectives.

Here is the 4km version I talked about. Airfield still has work to be done with it but manly detail, its going to be about that size. I know it seems to be VERY open but keep in mind 2 things. 1 I'm planning on making this a night map, max engagements will be around 200m due to low viability. Outside the airfield will be some fars and such, along with houses and a "terrorist training camp".Also things like terrain that you can't actually see plus a compound or 2 (thought housed radar) will be between the taxi way and runway to help give the US more cover.

All in all what do you think? Do the 4km realistic or stick with the meh 2km?

Any chance someone could change the name to "Operation Bright Star" (4km). I really want to post pictures, but its hard with this level, as its more of a level with only a few important parts that if viewed alone seem stupid,

Yes. References are usually to make it easier for you and to make it more authentic, but they are not a must.

I have about 30 days till I'm deployed for 14 months, NVGs would be impossible for me to implement.

Looks beautiful. Keep up the good work!

I just hope there won't be any problem with setting this night w/ NVG (even dusk would be good).

I remember that there was a map being done by Zeno for the NOR faction that was supposedly set during the night. Did they manage the NVG to work did they do a workaround?
