I'd not agree either (not insulted, just disagree) BS was a bit of an attempted mish-mash of EJOD, Kufrah and a bit o kashan thrown in. (Which is why if I did it again, I would do it very differently, because a 'jack of all trades' and master of none is how I would describe BS)
Disagreeing with the actual mapper might be a stupid idea, but as I see it, Burning Sands really is a lot like Ejod in general layout, minus the hills and that it's a 4km map which I suppose was inevitable if tanks where to be on it. As in, there's a fairly compact area in the center where infantry can duke it out with lots of space for maneuver around it for vehicles, which I really like.
Kufrah might have shared similarities before AAS v4 when flags would be scattered all over but now that most flag layouts are linear, the only similarity left is that it's in a desert which IMO isn't that important.
Also, the bunkers on Hills of Hamyong were cool but it's a little sad how the end flag for the Chinese didn't come into play that often. AFAIK that was one of the first, if not the first large indoor complex in PR. Kind of like the Muttrah fortress.
