If you get fun enough weapons they'll play. And im sure after trying to get through an ambush, you'll want to be the ambush

take the C4, and change the model to an IED (different kinds would be cool) and change the detonator model to a cellphone, which is what they use a lot.

And you have to give them the awesome turbans!

as long as the map as balanced out right, people will play.

Much like a grenade. Hence, Rocket Propelled Grenade.
The most common type of round for the RPG-7 is the PG-7 series high-explosive anti-tank warhead. Impacting a wall inside a room will likely not kill or injure everyone in it, as the explosive force of the round is directed forward. There will be secondary fragments from the wall and definitely some ringing ears, but the people most likely to get killed are probably the ones on the other side of that wall. Anti-personnel high-explosive fragmentation rounds of the OG-7 series are designed to maximize casualty radius.

I dont really like the whole idea about the MEC but it would even out the game. in real life the reason the terrorists are effective is because they blend in with everyone else, in a game where its one side against another a guy charging a line of M1A1s in a bomb loaded volkswagen isnt going to do anything except cause some pretty cool fireworks 8)

a map of

watch the base, try not to be randomly murdered by terrorists

wouldn't really be fun, or playable, or winnable for either side...

Thats why im thinking ambush map. It would be nice if maybe we could program some really basic civies to walk around in striaght lines, but that may cause un ending lag...

Don't forget about Russia! It's still a great military power and just about as friendly to the west as Stalin was to Hitler before 41. A future US-Russian clash in the manner of POE is a plausible conflict. The advantages of simulating this is symmetric warfare.

Now popping a TBG-7V grenade through that window, and see massive flames coming out of every other window on that floor :P

Without meaning to be rude... but what the hell do people mean by 'terrorist forces'... the only place that deserves to be considered is in the 'Team America, World Police' mod.

Or do you mean the insurgent groups currently operating in central Iraq or afganistan? If so the game would need radical alterations, as this is a battlefield game, not an urban police mod I really cant see this game functioning with radically asymetrical sides. To my knoledge there have been almost no 'open conflicts' that this game could depict since the occupation of Iraq. The vast magority of the casualties in falluja for isntance where civillian, mostly women and children. Likewise there where very few seasoned fighters, most of the combatants where the more fanatical fringe, and children.

The final point on this one is moral. Though few are aware of it the Mode age for insurgency combitants is distressingly young. Children and adolesants for the most part (typically) led by more experianced and trained ex soldiers. I for one would be extremely uncomfortable depicting combat against 12-16 y ear olds.
