yep,suffered this two times today,on muttrah and yamalia,prta server.
i was medic and rifleman.

100% sure.

This has happened to me more times than I would like. Seems more prevalent in 1.0.36 in my opinion. The only fix is to reload PR and then have to wait forever to get back into the full server you left.

I have a suspicion it might have something to do with closing PR without properly disconnecting from the server first, but just a hunch.

A fix would be nice since you can't really coordinate with other squads, when you have no clue, which SL is near you.

This needs to be further looked into.
PR restart doesnt do anything and reinstall I cant do.

I only have issues with squadleaders not showing on Linux servers. I joined a windows server and they were all there for 4 or 5 maps.

Nice catch. maybe the same goes for captured flag-disapearance bug aswell?

I can confirm that this bug exists and is very very annoying.
Especially in context of telling people that you can't see them, how you gonna pickup a squad when they are not visible on the map or put mortar rounds next to a squad that didn't tell its position but only their squad number (happens often without further responses after asking as they're busy etc.)
There are many reasons this is annoying and game-blocking and restarting the game is not a reasonable solution for me.

Nice, is that still working for you?
Haptic.con is important, too (all the sensibility settings, especially using a joystick)
I'm thinking about writing myself a batch or AutoHotkey script to do that for me before running the launcher...

not sure how that is working for you but when I delete generals.con, it makes my game crash instead creating a new file.

More likely it was fixed by something else, it usually fixes itself when you just delete all caches and restart. Two times that did not help I did that and it fixed itself, might be completely unrelated and I just threw it out there.
