I would advise against switching brands with a gpu. I recently had the same problem and I upgraded to this (exactly) FRYS.com?|?ASUS

It's a great card. Runs cool, doesn't use much power, good cost, and I've been able to max out everything I've got at 40-50 fps (apart from Arma 3). I really like the 7k series of cards here. I've got friends with 7850s and 7870s who haven't had any problems.

I have seen some cool stuff from nvidia, but I'm not too familiar with their products.
