Been currently out here in Iraq and with the BRITISH army not american (as it is going to be the british army), you need the following soft skin vehicles - in game:

Snatch 2 Landrovers
GS Landrovers - with top cover
WIMIK's

CIV Vehs

Landrover Discovery's (Used a lot out here now)

Also the locals use the "battered" Misubishi / toyota pick ups (always in white), may be a problem getting pics of this !!!

And a lot of other 1970's european "battered cars", and A LOT of them are white - with all 4 corners painted orange, to indicate they are "taxi's".

I will try to get pics of the 2 above (already got the others to upload) to add to the collection I have, but they may be from a distance - obviously

c ya on the 20th July for 2 weeks R&R (with around 100 pics .. lol)

i like the idea of civilian cars but i think they should take a while to get going (time for hotwiring, seen as we wouldnt have the keys to civilian cars)

as far as the video goes i can understand the soldiers doing it, there needs to be stronger leadership, starting way up at the top with good ole george bush (sarcasm to the extreme degree)
I know that the soldiers have to be firm with looting, but again thats too far. unfortunately we have to take in the POV of the reporter, he could be antiwar (not a bad thing) and that could unfortunately make him show a more destructive side of our soldiers, who as said are giving it their all (and sometimes unfortunately all of themselves) to do what they are told. they are dealing with mixed feelings back home about the war, at least in iraq. sometimes the line between supporting the troops and supporting the war is a little hard to distinguish.

just my thoughts

that video does not shock me at all. No offence to the americans in this forum but i remember watching the news and correct me if im wrong but the americans had a few 'freindly fire' incidents resulting in english casualtys and vehicles being destroyed back when alliad forces begun to move in on iraq. That video allmost makes them look thug like. He talks like its a game - there was no reason to shoot the windows in and the only reason they shot the tyres was so it wouldent move. Certanly no reason to crush it using a tank because they looted some wood. In no way am i sterotyping american forces to be unproffessional but i think some parts do seem in-experienced and unproffessional.

in their defense, they are new at this, theyve seen their friends get killed, and i think that when you see people of another country or even ethnicity kill your friends you develop prejudices towards those people, for example my grandfather faught in the pacific against the japanese and he still doesnt like them, soldiers or not.

i believe as i said the US needs stronger leadership at the top, we never even had an exit strategy.

All fine and well but dont forget these people were civilians. its no different to terrorists attacking our civilians. You steal some wood so the police crush your car/only source of income, in this case. i understand how hatred passes on as a nation. But these are proffessional soldiers and nontheless there actions should be just. In this case they are not justified.

It is people who carry out the actions in the following link:
http://www.christianmusictv.com/american_beheading.htm

where the hatred stems from. they are not soldiers. they are cowards who hide because they have no strength or purpose. These people are terrorists unlike the civilians shown in the other video.

I still agree with what I said earlier, it was wrong to do that... But Arrow has made a good point, but one thing that I would like to point out is that these people are not terrorist, they are civilians, just like us trying to make a living, trying to raise a familiy... They may not be American, British, Austrailian, Canadian... But all in all, we're all humans here, trying to make a diffrence, right now we have Americans training these Iraqies, because they want to make a diffrence in their country for the better. Terrorist are not them, the goal of ours and their enemies is the same, to strike fear into us, to kill us. Even in Modern day America and other places, I'm American, and yes, I'd love to see all this just stop, for there to be no more terrorism, but the fact is, it's not gonna happen, atleast not in my life time. We dont see Americans stereotyping Americans, because the fact is, America has its share of problems, ever watch the news, all the rapist, murderers, kid nappings, terrorist. You cant watch the news anymore without hearing about some 7 year old kid being sexually abused, then murdered and found in dumped in a pond... All these creeps deserve to killed, but no, they get off with a slap on the wrist, couple years in jail, and they are back out to do it again, but do we stereotype america as a bad country, no. It's the same over in Iraq, yes they have their problems, and those responsible deserve to be punished, but we shouldnt treat the innocent like that, they dont deserve it... It's the ones responsible who deserve it.

The LAW seems to never change does it. Hear about the family beaten to death latley? Kids kidnapped and raped, only the girl found. Happens to have been some guy who had kidnapped and raped a 14 year old off the streets multiple times, along with torturing him with burning him with cigarrettes and such. He got out of jail in 13 years........

Anyway, good points.
Heard about it, it sickens me to... Not to mention, that prison and jail are reallt not even punishment anymore, for many of those rapist, etc. Prison is better then where they were before, free rooming, a place to sleep, consistent meals, and guess whos paying for it all, the victims and us are paying for these criminals room and board.

I reaööy dont think MORE vehicles is needed, there is way to many as it is.
More variation, sure. More vehicles in totalt, no!

i dont think it suggests mor per map. simply a different set for each map etc. and obv more 'civ' variations. instead of apc spawning every time it blows up it could be replaced with a chevy truck with a 50 on the roof.

just more variation in general from vehicles to player skins to guns is a definate imo.
