I once knifed a support gunner by accident (yes accident!). I was in Mao, in a bunker when for some reason I decided to take my knife out and start slicing air as I walk out of the bunker. Right when I step out a squad gunner rushes in the bunker straight into my knife.. I was like WTF.... then I LOLd.

IIRC that means that he's died 7 times WHILE holding the knife, not being killed by a knife. I don't know if BF2 still tracks kills and deaths like that, as I havn't checked my stats for like 16 months.

I got knifed twice last night alone. Once when my teammate stabbed me in the bum after some wierd incident involving allegedly repeatedly rolling a vodnik over my teammates and another time by an upset sniper that I took out since sat on the top of a dune he looked like a flea on a slaughterhouse portioning table.

Actually I forgot about my other knife rambo rampage. This time I was a sniper on mao valley (I think) when an enemy squad came. I jumped on the ground, swiched to pistol only to find out all of my squad mates either took a few steps back towards our spawn or got killed. So I shot 1 or 2 guys with my pistol and then dove into the middle of the stack of enemy soldiers (there was like 3 soldiers on top of each other) and started swinging my knife like no tomorrow. Killed all of them, took one of their medic kits and went back to revive my fallen squad mates.. only to find that another enemy was already behind me and shot me in the back.

Now I only wonder how I managed to make some great knife kills and die like 10 seconds after that. :D

ive knifed loads of guys on OGT. You can take 1/2 a squad out with a knife before they have a clue whats going on, and when they do relize you have the rest of your squad open up on them :D

I always use stealth tactics like doing a long road where no one pass to sneak behind enemy lines that way knife a lot of dudes from behind, i only use the knife cause it dont make any noise while killing so no one notice my presence(and my squad)
On pr i knife more than on bf2v

I hate when someone enters on my stealth squada and start shooting and giving my position

I love knifing people. In fact just tonight on Ejod I sneaked up behind a US sniper and knifed him. It is great fun doing that. Much better than unloading a full clip into someones unsuspecting back.

I think all this talk of silent kills is a silent cry for more suppressed weapons in the game.

Wow. I write a quick post before going to the pub to watch the footy, I come back to find 4 pages of posts, impressive. Oh and someone checked my stats lol. I knew it when I was typing someone would. I've never had 7 deaths to knife kills, no chance. Anyway keep em coming. Cheers all!

No. No confirmation needed. He's right *cough*. I think *cough*. So no need for anyone to check, at all, none what so ever, matter closed, move on nothing to see here.

I use my knife all the time, when you sneak up behind a squad good luck trying to take them out with your M16. Much safer to knife them 1 by 1. Same with a sniper, better to knife him than give your position away.

yep its while holding, if it wasnt it would mean 90% of vanilla medics play k&p servers.

I usually only use my knife when:
- I dont wont to reveal my position (sounds)
- Conserve ammo
- Awesomeness :P

But I got into a knife-fight the other day - I lost....stupid engine :(

'[R-DEV wrote:fuzzhead']ive found this best in map like ghost train. you are observing an enemy squad passing by. you have identified their squad leader. you sneak behind him and knife him.
Exactly. I got two knife kills just the other day on OGT.. was advancing carefully from trenches to south bridge to hook up with my squad after picking up a sniper kit when I noticed a guy walking off to my left. I dropped to prone and observed him, and he passed by me no more than 10 meters from me, followed by another guy. I waited until they had all passed, then drew my knife and snuck after them. When I was closing in, suddenly a third guy spawned in front of me. I mean literally RIGHT in front of me, suddenly appearing within knifing distance.. I instinctively hit the mouse button, and the guy fell over, dead, before having a chance to react. Knowing that he might be on VOIP and able to warn his squad, I quickly moved up to the next guy in line (now known for sure to be the squad leader) and knifed him too. The point man still seemed oblivious that anything had happened to his mates; presumably, neither of them were on VOIP. :) I switched to the sniper rifle and popped him a single round in the back of the head at close range. Enemy squad taken care of, discreetly and efficiently. :)

Had I engaged the squad on sight with my sniper rifle in the thick forest of OGT, I would have had a hard time keeping track of them all when using the rifle's scope at such short range, and there's a large chance they'd have dropped prone out of sight at the moment I opened fire, and I'd had risked drawing the attention of unseen enemies nearby. The knife was definately the right weapon of choice for engaging the squad.
