Another week has gone by in our lifes and another thread about instant proning and the discussion of doing so IRL. Sighh
As far as I know in game, when laying prone, you have the best aim compared to standing or crouching, just like IRL.
While in game, one can be standing/walking/running and then press the prone button and the iron site button at the same time and have excellent aim and be low to the ground in fractions of a second.
This can't be done IRL people.
1. You're moving your head back.
2. You're moving your arms up (gun)
3. Your body itself is accerlating toward the ground
Gang, your body is in complete flux at this time, you would need to be really close to hit anything.
You would need to be a freaking bad *** Special Forces Soilder and literally have thousands of hours of practice to even come close to pulling this off in mid air.
After ground contact.
On top of that, you just pancaked your abdominal and throacic region, thus knocking the air out of your lungs, can't breath then.
On top of that, when you pancaked the ground (the legs absorb 0 energy from the fall, there is no way your aim will be worth sh^% after impact (for a good second)! No way!
Now in real life, when you hit the ground the legs take a little bit of the impact, and with the vest and fatigues it also absorbs some of the energy, you should be o.k. to fire quickly without having the wind knocked out of you. But this is greatly slowed down from BF2.
Like Sneak Attack said, guys no way people can aim so true in mid air and after ground impact as we are seeing in BF2.
In fact, I believe the way the game is coded, the person when pressing the prone button instanly goes to that position. When we see them go down, they are already on the ground.
Horrible coding.
Armed Assault has pretty good set-up. Almost too slow compared to what I am used to in BF2.
