handing out valuable kits based on the kd ratio, teampoints or being in the top 5 of the momentary ranking is IMO quite fair
you have a bad round so youre sticking to your rifleman or medickit
you have a good round you get rewarded for it and probably help your team even more.

I disagree, there should be no bonuses at all for individual acheivement, other than not being dead. This is a team game after all.

I wouldn't mind seeing the spawn timer upped a bit. Maybe 1 min? Yea, people new to the mod would probably soil their chairs the first time they saw this, but it would have a positive effect on overall gameplay.
Im sure all this has been suggested before though.

I think the only way this would be succesfull would be to increase the critically wounded time (for non-insta kills) as well. e.g. If the spawn timer is 60 seconds then give medics 45 seconds to be able to revive you. This would definitiely slow down gameplay and give the medics more opportunities/time to fill their important role.

It has been suggested before but I'm not sure what the considerations were.

Yeah, I am not sure about longer spawn times, we already have plenty of Stick to encourange slower play, what we need is a bit of carrot.

I agree with the original point of this thread. People don't really value their lives, but I can't think of any thing that can be done to actually force people to want to die less (which is the problem here, people actually need to want to die less).

Unless you are playing a clan match, most players won't care about dying too much and with the few servers that run ABR, stats don't really matter.

Well we could just hook each players computers up with some kind of horrible death machine. So that way when they die in game they die for real! Everyone would sure be careful then!

Ironically when the community was smaller i.e before 0.4 and the Brits came, the game was not as good but played so much better...and i put this purely down to the community. The DEVs have done a great job in keeping the focus on teamplay. But as the game gets better, getting more and more addons, we get more people who have no interest in the idea behind PR and just want BF2 with cool stuff.
I'd be happy with 5 minute spawn times if it helped get the general public servers playing teamwork like they used to prior to 0.4

(i'm not saying Teamwork no longer happens, it's just normally now one or two good squads with 3 or 4 squads being worse than useless and acting like headless chickens running around the map.)
