how about the channel islands, my geography is not what it used to be, iirc they are only a few miles long.
found on, its called alderney, its about 5km long, or you may want to look at guernsy, it would make for a nice-ish british home defense map since their politics is related.

Here in Canada we have maps available starting at 1:10,000 scale, aerial photos in a slightly larger scale and some satelite imaging for some areas as well. Hmm if only there was a way to utililize this mapping.... BINGO! Add the Canadian army (say this weekend the Devs do that) then make about a dozen maps on Canadian soil (to mimick the impending MEC/PLA invasion). All the maps (created the following weekend) would be to scale. Man I'm good

Yah never know, as China is making inroads into the South American Market these days, so anything is possible.
Forget these open desert maps, one huge map based in Mexico city would be interesting. And since China is currently in bed with Mexico it wouldn't be a stretch story wise.
