Definitely check out Tactical Gamer. It's almost always full, but it's worth the wait.

Don't use teamspeak or stuff like that. Yes its nice and very funny, but ingame works so much better.

I really don't want to go the headset only route coming from the xbox 360 where the headset was just for communications only, but if thats what I will need to do that is how its going to be I guess.

I have tried the different servers but it is hard to get on a team that works together. All the ones that work together are already full, and you can't here a word that they are saying.

That is why I was hopping each server would have a teamspeak server or something, but O well. I guess I will just keep trying till I find a good squad.

And about the headsets, that really wouldn't be a problem, its just that it is so hard to hear what people are saying in tandum with all the explosions and fire works going off. It is almost to much to handle since I can only hear out of one ear, thats why I preferred the speakers so that I could differentiate sound better.

On a side note, is there a way to turn off the (AI Communication sounds) i.e. requesting supply drop, support, ect... you know what I mean?

If you want to find a regular group of players to meet up with in TS and in game I suggest you take up Bob.Dob's offer. There's always the official tourney as well but signups are currently on hold till 0.6 is released. Playing regularly with a few people you get to know can give you a more reliable chance of better teamplay, therefor better rounds and generally a better gaming experience :)

As for the sounds, no there is no user-end option for that.

I believe there is an option to turn down those voices - can't you just go into audio settings and set the "voice-over" to be extra low? You have settings for music and SFX too.

Sometimes people just have mics on low so if you struggle to hear them ask them to turn up vol or speak up.

Most of the big servers I've been on (that are also full) have their own teamspeak and website to visit. I've found you do sometimes find players that are very good with teamwork and communicate a lot.

Take tonight for example: I had about 3-4 games and on one I ended up in a clan squad (though was mostly misc players) for =SSR= and we nailed the map, but only through constant comms and teamwork.
Then the next battle our squad leader left and I ended up in a totally new team, which was also clan based but all of the clan members were French :)

I think also the more you talk and advise your teammates, the more they tend to respond back and get into it too.

If you really are a mature gamer and can follow orders...not engage in tardness and are willing to communicate then go to TG http://www.tacticalgamer.com

Hi mate, and welcome to the community.

My comms set up is exactly as it is on the 360, apart from i have voice and sounds coming through my 5.1, with my mic just for talking.

So you can definatly do it.

Where are you based mate? if its Europe get yourself onto .:iGi:. sometime.

when I used to play 0.4, iGi and TB were the only 2 servers I played on.

now I haven't even seen iGi in my server list unless it's just empty a lot. Even TB was acting a bit strange yday. Normally they're top of my list ping-wise and they weren't. Then when I added them as fav and tried to refresh them they just disappeared!

well I'll have another look next time I'm on. I've also found another server which was quite good that's french.

Thanks Guys, yea I played a bit last night and it is definitely getting better in terms of finding good squads.

Now I just need to learn the maps and how to shoot. I basically suck right now because I can't hit a turtle stampeding through peanut butter.

But I will be sure and check out Bob.D's site, and ask players to maybe turn up their mic volume more.

I tried the Tactical Gamer website, but whenever I go onto the TS server and join the PR squad I never here anyone. I think it’s probably because I am not on the same squad (in game) as them? I try to ask them what squad they are on while I am in windows, but nobody says anything.

O well, I will figure this out eventually, but thanks again guys.
O yea, my in game name is "bsmoove".

cool, I'll look out for you whenever I'm on. I don't generally see a lot of people on servers I recognise from the forum.

my ingame name is basically the same as forum but with AS at end.

I'm slowly getting better at shooting too, but still not amazing. I've learnt to kill people without using the sight in quick shoot-or-die situations too :)
