Think you're headed fast and hard into the realms of impossible coding here guys, but SL-deployable sandbags at the most would be handy. Especially when you consider that an undeployed sandbag is just a small hessian sack- not outside the realms of possibility for a squad to carry a small number with them.

squads do carry them, 2 each so 8 man squad has 16 sandbags can make a nice little wall with that :D

Nice suggestion. Would make defence a little easier and tactical.

I would say if it's tied to a supply drop put a large radius on it, over 100m. Make them require a shovel to build once placed.

I don't think anything above and beyond the sandbags is needed or real. Keep it simple but effective

yeah they definitely need a shovel ... and 100 m sounds good, and i do think your right - sandbags in themselves would prove to be a valuable asset to any squad, if they had support they can still use the bags as cover so not much need to set up an mg nest when you can have a mobile one :D

1 Sandbags and 1 razor wire per squad would be real nice.
Any more or anything bigger and it will start to get out of hand.

i dont really think you would walk around with barb wire, on the battlefield, it would require some kind of heavy but fast moving vehicle such as the Cargo humvee, " sudjested in a pervious post on page 1 " ^^

True, I think maybe sandbags should be the only possibility unless a support vehicle, like the engineer vehicle with an able engineer is close by to build it.

I think the most feasible and viable approach would be:
Commander sandbags get a GPMG, require the support trucks or jeeps nearby
Squad Leader sandbags get no GPMG, dont need a vehicle nearby, max of 2 concurrent per SL

Because we use the HUD to spawn these the SL has a distinct HUD we can bake them into.

There might be another way to do them as kit items which we'll 'speriment with.

All of that is for the future ;)
