Only realistic for US and MEC.

The British don't issue Aimpoint style sights and there simply isn't one for the QBZ-95.

Well yes we do in certain cases...such as CP teams

Yes.

You never said medic you said:
"The British don't issue Aimpoint style sight"
Medics fine with Irons

Bah, just because I'm too lazy to say that "The British don't issue Aimpoint style sights, except to special forces and other select personel who are issued specialist weapons"

LOL

British Soldiers Do Not Use Aimpoint Style Sights Except For The Ones That Do

Everyone who consider me complaining - I'm not . I just don't see medics at all and try to figure out what to do with this kit to force ppl select it and do their job . Atm medics are available only in good squads ...

I really have no idea what can be issued to british medic - maybe standart L85A2\SUSAT ? Medics are frontline troops , what are they issued irl ? Having engineer with L85A2\Iron sights makes sence as engineers aren't supposed to fight in infantry squads , but medic ...
As for PLA ... I don't know .

p/s other idea is placing a field hospital \ call for medevac or carbines - M4\G3KA4 and L85A2\QBZ-95 with iron sights for GB and PLA . Other then that , I'm out of ideas about unique and fancy medic stuff ... atm medic is the most boring kit from 4 unlimited , not speaking of limited ones...only dedicated teamplayers take this kit if theres no other medic in the squad .

When I did work shadowing with 16 close support med regiment all but one of the L85s I saw that were issued to medics had Iron sights on. All the ones that the paras had had SUSATs on them.

However, this was just over a year ago when 3 Para were deployed to Afghanistan, along with most of 16 CSMR (when I was there it was about 2 sections worth of plus a couple of officers, and half of them left halfway though the week) so if there were any more SUSATs to be going around, they may have already gone out.

i personally don't like scopes in PR. i always avoid using them in PR actually. just a personal preference. (thats why i'll go medic or engy most of the time)

but i love aimpoints

if by aimpoint you mean the M4 aimpoint ingame which is beyond realistic - it's like having a laser pointing monocle slaved to your gun barrel. Perfect in an AvP game but not for modern combat. This is what an aimpoint should look like using a cowitness - it has disadvantages as well as advantages over ironsights but it's not the uber sight represented in BF2. Were it to be realistically portrayed in PRM, aimpoints would not have any substantial advantages over ironsights as cowitnesses are not available.

Thats low picatinny mount ( on the pic it isn't even flattop - picatinny rail is established on carrying handle ) . With high mount you have clear aimpoint\scope view . But yes , mostly they use low mount , agreed . Still aimpoint a-la PoE2 isn't that bad as it will give some advantages over iron sights but still wont make medic a rifleman

I can only speak from experience in the German army.

The "medics" that go out with the "grunts" are just grunts themselfs, only with some additional training. They carry the standard rifle, which was the G36 in our case and normal loadout in addition to some medical tools and supplies.

So imho they should be issued the scoped rifles, too. They'd still miss nades and ammo bags in PR.

I agree with giving every selectable class scopes. But alas the Bundeswehr does not seem to be the best example, since the scope of the G36 is built in,as well as a reflex-sight,so ironsights are not needed and also not really available.
What would be best if you could use the backup Ironsights mounted on some of the scopes, (as suggested in another post here), or choose before spawning if you want a scope or reflex/ironsights via the unlock-system.

It might not be the best example, but I doubt it's much different in other NATO-armies? Or do they attach medics from medical units to the combat-groups that keep their "back of the line" equiptment? In my experience those medical units rarely if ever go out on combat missions, as they are under special protection and are not allowed to engage enemies unless threatened anyway.

So imho the medics we see in PR are simply grunts with some basic medical training and as such carry the "normal" weaponloadout. I'd be -realy- surprised if it would be handled differently by any of the represented armies.

'[R-DEV wrote:Eddie Baker;458469']I would prefer to see the riflemen of all types (including grenadier and rifleman w/ single-shot LAW) get optics, and have optics vary by map. I.e., close-combat sights for urban and densely foliated maps (for the factions that issue them), and telescopic sights for more open maps.

Yeah, and to top it all off, they call the HMMWV SHORAD launchers the Avenger Pedestal Mounted Stinger.
Agreed. As it stands, hardly anyone uses the kits without optics. I'd like to see a wide range off kits on the battlefield again. Not most people playing rifleman as it currently is. I know theres a case for saying, 'play medic etc as it should be' but in practice people get sick of dying for the xth time from an enemy they can't see so they choose a kit with optics to combat it.

How about a temporary solution, where Medics would spawn with two rifles listed under numbers 2 and 3, 3 being scoped and 2 ironsight

I don't get the urge for optics and scope this much for this game. Ironsight is one crucial part that makes the game feel real. I hate playing Americas Army with ironsights and always run for the SP kit but I love the ironsight in PR.
