Dont know why you all mean that the pistol isnt effective ... i've killed many guys also from a big distance ... if you know how to play with it is very effective.

If u are not lonewolfing, marksman is good as it is. Agree, sometimes I miss a side gun, but u can easly do without one.

Just learn to shoot with a gun in CQC without aiming (iron sights, red dots, scopes) as i did. It's not so hard to learn.

Marksman rifle fires so fast I often use it at very close range effectively, they dont actually need the pistol for that purpose
Do a practise on a red barrel next time you are waiting at hq. You allready know where the center of the screen is and another player at close range will cover a large part of it.
Its not actually hard to line up the gun without sights and its accurate
