Most mods are like that i agree but the ones that we cant to use their static wont let us because they dont PR to have all the glory! Oh and arma to me just felt weird.
Anyway back on topic.

DavidP wrote:Guys we cant force another mod to adopt PR specifics or it will seem that we are elitists! We can suggest and let the modders decide but nothing else or it will create a backlash against PR and PR players!
Durrr... Of course we can't force them, the mere logistics of such an operation would be mindblowing. What, we go to the modder's houses and kick them in the teeth a few times until they cooperate?
It's just a suggestion, and always will be, until a mod team decides to walk down this path. Who knows, maybe the PR team wont even want to give up their secrets since such a move will hurt their playerbase.
PS "!"<- you use this a lot.

Hey, I think Sandbox should be PR-iffied!! Realistic booster buggies FTW!
I think the problem is simply that the arcadish gameplay in vanilla BF2 (and thus, all mods that don't change it) is poorly balanced and somewhat buggy, resulting in the lack of reasons to use teamwork. Also, I personally think unrealistic gameplay like the absurd damage and kit availability system doesn't fit with the "modern combat" style of the game, making it look even crappier.
And for the record, vanilla DID have a lot of things made to encourage teamwork, medics and the way they can heal everyone around the vehicle they're in being just one example, except EA/DICE screwed it all up with the crappy way they treated the rest of the gameplay related aspects.

The PR crew should make their own game and sell it they'd be rich.

There isn't a Gigantic market for
realistic war games, otherwise we'd see them more often.

When I first got COD4, I played it alot, after being blinded by the Muzzle Flashes I miss PR, I play that more then my new Game.
I also Play on Neverwinter Nights a bit, and Armed Assault. Still PR is my favourite.

Yeah just PR and some old diablo 2.... a tiny bit of arma...
PR just doesn't get old for me, I can always fall back on it for entertainment, I blame the good squads

PR is addicting as hell. Compared to any other mod out their, the gameplay is not even in the same category. Sure, I'm looking forward to FH2 but without AASv2 I'll get sick of it within a few days.
The first couple of times you play it's OK. Then when you finally get a good squad and your on a roll you just want to keep playing to get that again.

FH2 has a "Push" system that seems to be the same as AAS.

the market is huuuuge is just tapping into it thats the problem. Most of the best players on here are older more mature folk who are ex forces or heaviliy into the army thing

those sorta fellows dont usually tend to play games
however more younger people seem to be getting converted by the community and becoming worthwhile teamplayers (it can be done, just hammer it into them)

Well, looking by the current releases, everyone is designing 1337 bunny hopping super Spec Op or sniper games with ridiculous damages and spammable stuff, like hand grenades, claymores, M203s..
On the other hand you have games like OFP and ArmA, which are mil sims, but have poor graphics turning away those, who want cool and 1337pwn looking graphics and effects, when they instaprone on full auto and dodge bullets.

If ArmA wasn't so clunky and all the AI guys didn't talk like robots it would be more popular. The game feels half-assed, like Bohemia Interactive had better things to do than work on the game.

maybe the reason ArmA seems half assed is because they stripped it down...ie its not as "powerful" as the MILSPEC version...?

I've said it before and I'll say it again:
My name is Ante and I'm addicted to Project Reality.
It's like fucking crack for me. I can't stop myself from playing it every night.
And when I'm not playing, I'm thinking how awesome it would be to do this or that thing in PR. Jebus Christ, I need therapy.
