is 500 feet high enough? like can you see it spawn in the air? i was thinking more like maybe 1000+ feet up. but thats awesome that you tried it out thanks alot

it can be changed very easy so it just needs to be tweaked so that it seems real, like adding a firing delay so that you pull the trigger and 10 sec later the bomb fires so you would have to be aiming for about 20sec to hit the target.

i did make a jdam that was droped by a f16, it would track a attack marker to simulate gps, and me and cas also made it so that a f15 copilot would be able to drop guided bombs. if you want a player droped jdam that uses a laser you will not be able to do that using lptargetcomp, so you will have to make the simrad shoot some kind of projecile that would have a lasertarget attached to its end effect.

I like the idea, but I don't want to pass any judgment until we see the way they implement JDAMs in .7. Turning it into a spamfest of guided anti-tank and High Explosive weapons would definitely not be fun.

well with the way me and cas made them, first your planes have to gain air controll which is very hard with the changes to aa and planes, then the squad that is requesting the jdam would have to talk to the commander and he would have to send a attack order to squad that the plane is in. this would make having a commander very important, i dont even think you can spam this way. also just so every one knows you cannont lock onto another teams marker or even another squads marker, so this could be a very good way to implement the jdam into pr. but i would need to do some large scale testing to see if it would be practical to be in pr.

yes because the plane is WAY high up in the air. if you ever seen the videos of JDAMS or GBUS or whatever being dropped in iraq/afghanistan you usually see the plane as a little speck in the sky. its not even worth trying to model in game.

btw, i love how some people think that im talking about a heavy AT missile being shot out of the air lol i am in a way, but im talking about the missile model being replaced with a bomb model. and no missile trail obviously.

yeah i was actually wondering about this, is there a limit to the skys height in bf2? cuz i was thinking instead of coding some kind of delay between calling in the bomb and it being dropped, you could just spawn the bomb at whatever height would take it 15-20 seconds to hit the ground. probly something really high.

you could, as a placeholder, just use one of the bombs thats already in bf2. at least until a proper LGB bomb is made.

i already have the code for a laser guided jdam, it uses the mk82 mesh cus a jdam is just a kit for that and the only thing that the mk82 is missing from the jdamis the front cone, so it looks real.


if you want the bomb to have a fall time, then you could add a fire delay so it would fire 10 sec after you pull the trigger, then if could fall for another 10 as you guide it to the target.
