If anyone has played BFV, do you remember the Ride of the Valkyries (think that's how it's spelled) on the attack choppers. I loved playing that to get the enemy to fire at me. Then I'd know exactly where they all were, and blow them to smithereens.

1) carefully ordering an ammo crate on an approach to a cp that no one is going for (a SL can have 3x crates down at one time on map)
2) sending a couple of guys in your squad to create noise and diversion to make the enemy think you are attacking from one direction, when your main force attacking from another (silently!)
3) using the "ammunition out/reload" shout when not out, to trick the enemy into running into you when you are ready and waiting!
4) same again with the medic request shout. After taking heavy fire at close range, a lot in the squad asking for medic like they are wounded needing reviving makes the enemy think you are all down and they attack, only to find out you are again ready and waiting.
5) creating an RP in a likely position, where the enmy will know to go look, can hear maybe, then running around the enemy to other side, creating a new RP after the enemy drawn out of their cp and run in to attack enemy cp from different direction.
All things I rarely see, if ever. Let's see some interesting gameplay going on everyone! It's gotta be worth the giggles afterwards.
Most of these are really only possible with a very tight squad. It just doesn't happen in pub play, unless you are playing with some clan/tourny members.

True... However the fear effect from a guy saying "Go!" wears off very fast.
Firstly religious shouts of allahu ackbar and such I definately don't agree with, far too many toes to step on there. The whole call to prayer thing, if it was just an ambient sound effect repeated every now and then I can't see how any offence could be caused by that.
After all irl it is a muslim country and there will be call to prayer, we're not desecrating the idea by running around "killing" folk and then shouting "allahu ackbar!!"
Things like that Jihad car music have the desired effect without causing offence... The apc knows that somewhere nearby, where he cant see, someone is waiting to destroy him with a single click... Even if the enemy isnt within reach, as long as he can hear it you can really set about making them nervous.
Perhaps some speakers of a british landrover that play really bad music or summin, could be used to trick insurgents into/away from places.
We don't ned to go around offending folks religion for the fear to be effective, Cantina music prooves this theory. I just think theres a lot to be exploited still within this effect to provide a tense and immersive environment.
Edit: Just watched the new JDAM teaser vid. THAT is the sorta thing I mean

hehehe I don't care about the big impact, tis the fact that any large gathering of troops will get very tense (the average pubby will run a mile) whenever they hear the sound of that bomber

Here's an idea, how about something a long the lines of base alarms? Basically, some CPs that resemble fortified positions (Like Kashan's North & South Bunker, or Seven Gates River Fort & Citadel Flags) will come with an alarm trigger. Players activate the alarm by simply shooting the alarm trigger. Once done, an appropriate alarm sound goes off in the general area. Mainly used to alert others that the CP is under attack, would add to the drama of the stealthy approach.
Some other general things could be a car alarm going off when a player touches or shoots a random static car. Might also be cool if some static cars (especially those overturned tankers) could catch fire and potentially explode. Maybe if you approach a closed house, you begin to hear the sound of a dog barking from the inside.
If anything, I'd like to see more things that would make players more conservative. Like better suppression fire effects (The FH2 effect works really well), it would send the message to the player that they need to take better cover. When a grenade, bomb or any other explosion goes off I'd like to see more dust, making it almost impossible to acquire a good visual, which could possibly force players to move from their positions, or make them think an explosion is bigger and deadlier than what it really is (Like the JDAM explosion).

Itd be nice if all armys could get a "Taunt" key in the camo rose, just like in the BFV days of "I am bu ku dinky dow" and "I own your ***" lol

Thats a good idea, better than some because it offers a clear communicative purpose without being a taunt.

Well in 0.7 you could yell Grenade Grenade! (without throwing any) and see if the enemy comes running up out of their bunkers - lol

If you're currently being shot at by someone, you may insult there race, religion, ethnicity, gender, facial features, penis size, etc.
If you are playing a game where you are shooting virtual people you may do none of these things. You are expected to be polite and understanding because it isn't real.
TF, you are the ultimate fail.
If we could implement taunts that are mildly amusing and not truly insulting/demeaning I'm all for it. Just don't consider suggestions like the ones we have so far....

Some Ideas.
1. Loud Heavy Metal on Allied Transport Helos. I can see it now: Operation: Ghost Train.... Merlin Flys over the river to the Bridge CP. Pilot starts to Circle over the trees and holds down his fire key. Loud! LOUD! LOUD!!! mustic start blaring from above. The Chinese startled and bewondered stare at this large bird and start taking popshots. As the Stalking Royal Marines creep up on position from the banks of the River to the East.
2. PLC, Insurgent, Militant Death Pole. Sqaud Leaders in these armies would get a deployable in thier kit. A Bamboo Pole/Rifle/Stake stuck in the ground with a helmet/skull/head on it..... Imagine Moving your British Squadmates through the streets of Basrah searching for Weapons Caches, when there in the middle of the street sitting on top of Rifle is the Helmet of one of your fallen commrades. Just sitting there... taunting you... In the middle of the street. Quick think fast! What do you do now??? Do you carry on your current path, is there an impending ambush just up ahead??? Do you flank around another street and risk missing a Cache??? Do you try and take it down, is there an IED at the base of it???
3. Battlecry... What would be cool... would be to take the voice commo idea to a new step. I wish instead of Knives we had a bayonet system for typical grunt classes. LMB would be the Thrust, Right Click would be a Weapon Sound that was a Battle Cry not a radio comm. Operation: Ghost Train... After your Royal Marine Squad had successfully Captured the West Point of the Bridge you are rearming and getting ready to roll out. What was that?? Movement on the Hill to the North. You quickly scan the hill and see no movement again. Hmmm you go back to your squad when you hear it... A sound so bone-chilling you Freeze in your steps... The Sound of PLA SCREAMING a Battle Cry. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! You cannot tell how many are coming... but you that they are coming, and fast. A Chinese Squad is Running Down the Hill, bayonets drawn, shouting there DEATHCRY!!! In a Matter of Seconds you and your squadmates drawn on them. As you bring your sights up on the Middle Soldier you hold your breath and squeeze the trigger. When you hear a second Battle Cry coming from the West, and in the corner of your eye... another squad of Bayonet wielding PLA.

the A-10 doesn't need a scary noise to scare the enemy it IS a scary noise that frightens the enemy.

In the vBF2 files are 3 taunt sound files:
All three are rather crappy laughs ..
Maybe if you could use a Grenade! shout to flush out enemies ...
Or maybe if the US rush a bunker full of insurgents with an airhorn !
I got rused with one once ... lets just say a change of underwear was required ...

Not to get off topic too much. I do like MR.Ds comments however though I put them in the box of psychological warfare I place them more in ambushing/distraction tactics.
Loving garris' comments especially like the idea of a skull post thing, imagine one of those with a minfield near/around it, you go past, it feels creep, then BOOM! things like that.
I know I'm stirring up the reality argument, but I LOVE the idea of a propaganda chopper, blaring AC/DC as it soars overhead.
The effect takes time but eventually tis insulting to the chinese that theres a flying rock concert they can't shoot down... however when the propaganda chopper does go down, think of the moral boost
The thing I like the most is an alarm system, you could have an old bunker being defended and being able to hit a button that'll set off sirens whenever the enemy approches will are they watching me? they could be...

propaganda speakers like in BFV in chinese villages playing the March of the Volunteers (PRC Anthem) all time mixed with speeches in Chinese (to boost moral) and in English (to insult the enemy)
