Problem: Taking down an enemy APC takes a whole 30 rounds or so anyways so what good will an alternate fast burst mode with slow reload do? You still can only load and fire the thing so fast. Infantry only take like one or two HE rounds or some coaxial, nothing more.
Jonny's latest idea sounds best, assuming his info is correct. Otherwise keep it the way it is ROF/loading wise.
Trivia: James Blunt used to drive/gun/command (not sure which) a Scimitar light tank.

Taking advantage of small attack windows (either firing at a fleeing vehicle or moving yourself in and out of cover.)

Are you telling me that irl, there is a 3 man crew serving the warrior or scimitar and that the auto-cannon infact isn't an auto cannon for more that three shots at a time?

Yup, the L21A1 Rarden that's used in the Scimitar and Warrior is loaded manually with three-round clips.

Hmm. Learn something new every day. I assumed it was just like the Bushmaster.

If Jonny's idea doesn't work, maybe use the overheating system, so the gun overheats if 6 rounds are fired quickly, but can be fired at a lower speed nearly indefinitely?
Maybe change the 'hissing' overheat sound to the sound of the loader coughing and panting...
But I guess the devs have already thought of that.

According to the Wiki below (yes I know its a Wiki, not a news service, but lets assume its not total bunk). The Warrior is supposed to be undergoing an extensive refit programme designed to give it an extended service life to 2025. Part of this overhaul includes a new turret with a 30 - 40 mm canon.
We already know that PR is supposed to take place either in the present or the very near future, so would it not still be realistic to make the Warrior's canon a full automatic again and just attribute it to the fact that even now over 70 warriors have already completed just such a refit?

we Brits have a strange way about us, but we still get the job done no matter what the circumstances

i was looking on tht link and i found this:
Desert Warrior
Warrior vehicles adapted for operations in hostile desert conditions.
The Desert Warrior is also fitted with the same turret used by the LAV-25 wheeled IFV.
In 1993, Kuwait purchased 254 Desert Warrior vehicles fitted with Delco turrets, stabilised M242 25 mm chain gun with coaxial 7.62 mm chain gun and 2 x Hughes TOW ATGM launchers (one mounted on each side).

hehe yeah that is old school.... however knowing that.... I would definetly choose the CV 9040 over the Warrior.... IFV with a 40mm autcannon...

Exclusivly for export.
Might make a nice addition for the MEC though
The 40mm turret upgrade would be nice, but would require an entirely new turret to be modeled.

LoL Rhino looks funny in this picture
BTW:
The L21A1 30mm RARDEN Cannon has a maximum rate of fire of 90 rounds per minute
90 rounds/60 secs = 1.5 Rounds in a second so the currently fire mode is quite realistic

A total of 449 Warriors are to be upgraded with two-person turret armed with the 40 mm Case Telescoped Weapon System.
Under current plans it is expected that a total of 449 Warriors are to be upgraded under the WLIP with another 125/150 being converted into Armoured Battlegroup Support Vehicles (ABSVs). The DPA has already awarded CTA International (a joint venture between the now BAE Systems Land System of the UK and Giat Industries of France) a contract to supply a complete two-person turret armed with the 40 mm Case Telescoped Weapon System (CTWS) under the Manned Turret Integration Programme (MTIP). This will culminate in a live crew clearance and user evaluation on a Warrior chassis in late 2006. (Which hasn't happened yet!!!).
get modelling!!!!

You can thank the British for that

(No offense, just a lil' joke).

Soulja wrote:Yea I can't help but think they should have a little bit higher rate of fire just to be balanced. That or give the Brits Bradley IFVs or something with a higher ROF. I was on fools road yesterday and it took forever to kill and enemy BDRM putting AP rounds though the front glass. Also, wouldn't a AP round though that glass kill the driver in reality? I just somehow think that no matter how bulletproof that glass is it wouldn't stop a 30mm AP.

Might have been. Don't remember. Sorry. lol
I think that if that's what the brits use in reality commonly then they really need to upgrade those things. This is the 21st century, not WWII. Those 40mm seem nice though lol

The first I noticed of this was a tracer filling my entire screen, about 40 feet of one long tracer. Looks cool but a weird effect, I thought the gunner was burst firing for some reason
James blunt is on myspace no doubt
