No and The OP is Fail.
Katarn said it best.

No truer words have been spoken.

Most ridiculous statement I've read on the forums of a game aimed towards realism.

One thing tho. It makes the sniper useless, even when ive steadied my sights on somone for 5 seconds, the bullet still hits somewhere else. Preferably outside of my inner crossair..
That's all to do with your drop. After 2-3 seconds all the sniper rifles are pin-point accurate. After that time they hit the minimum deviation point and for sniper rifles we set it to "0" (no deviation).

QFT. 2 2/3 seconds and that is for the turning deviation to settle. Pistols have a very small settling time of 2/3 of a second. Carbines, SMG's, machine pistols and rifles have a settling time of 1 1/3 seconds. Handheld LMG's and GPMG's have a 2 2/3 second settling time.

I really want to piss and moan one way or the other, but my internet connection has been laggin up, and the only kill I've gotten in 0.75 was a headshot. Admittedly, from prone at a prone guy 20 feet away, but I've apparently only got 1337 bones in my body.

Your not the only one...
IMO the deviation in 0.75 is close to perfect. Its not 0.6 lazer accuracy, and its not 0.7 where i had problems with hitting a man 50 meters away.

Deviation was good in 0.7, most of the weapons you could still get an accurate head shot if you TOOK YOUR TIME. 0.75 ive noticed its a bit too easy, however i usualy just knock one off to the side of the guy so he is supressed anyway so he cant fire back and then i can just take my time to shoot him in the head.
In 0.7 i pretty much did the same tactic anyway and with the same results so go figure.
Anyway im all for putting the deviation back to how it was, people should be patient anyway, unless the targets real close your not going to need to rush your shot. Just pop a few rounds at his feet two in the chest or one in the head.

I think overall, 0.75 is the best release. If only Archer wouldnt crash.. I complained quite a bit about the 0.7 deviation.. my rifle sprayed all over the place even when I was shooting fromt he hip at an enemy 10 m away from me.. to me that deviation was just plain ridiculous. Now 0.75 is the best compromise.. as for those who cant seem to kill or avoid being killed.. stop relying on exaggerated deviation and buy yourselves new computers. Especially if you play everyday for 3 hours.. you shouldnt be getting owned lol.

Emyron, that bullet didn't happen to hit somewhere below or above your crosshair did it? If so it's probably due to you not compensating for zeroing/bullet drop enough or too much.
Anyway I really don't see the problem, I know it takes time to steady a gun as hefty as an assault rifle, but up close waiting over a second to get any sort of accuracy was kinda ridiculous. Obviously the soldiers in game aren't SAS using subs, but there shouldn't be too much margin of error shooting someone stood 5 meters in front of you.
The deviation punishes stupid uses of auto fire and that kicks in at short distance too, so the weapon control element of the deviation system is fine if you ask me, however I've got no idea how accurate any of the weapons in game is supposed to be and the bullet drop etc attributed to them so I have no idea how wrong that might be. Probably not very much so. People lying down waiting for targets still have a major advantage over people rushing directly at them so it must be working well if you ask me.

Have any of you actually fired a live weapon? Tried to move, stop, and shoot? I have. It takes MUCH longer than the ridiculous 1-3 seconds that currently exists in-game. War-time veterans will tell you it takes 1-3 clips to kill just one man because by the time you've fired your first 1-3 shots and missed, he's already gone for cover. There are many factors involved in shooting than just stop, drop, and kill:
- Momentum
- Stance shifting time
- Muscle twitching, blood pulse
- Reacquisition, tracking time of moving targets
BF2 has NONE of these factors, making aiming and killing a simple twitch of the mouse. I think many of you are thankful for that because you'd rather run around and instantly kill whatever is on your cursor in a second or less without worrying about any degree of realism or simulated human reaction. Pure impatience, pure instant-gratification that has nothing to do with realism. So when things like deviation and cones of fire are introduced, all you people do is ***** and complain "wtf I put my cursor on him and he didn't die. This deviation sucks!"
If real life had anything close to PR's current deviation, wars would be over in seconds. You could spot an enemy, fire, and kill the target in 1-3 shots lasting less than 3 seconds. That scenario is completely absurd yet this is exactly what people want in the game.
The current physics make everyone a champion competition shooter, in turn making PR no different than any other run'n gun shooter out there. It's getting annoying.
