Course it's real. It's not real warfare but it is real time that people spend playing this game, remember? And it can become incredibly annoying if you're playing on your favourite (or clan/community) server and your team is taking a thrashing because half the players on your side are sat in the main base throwing smoke, firing their sidearms or rifles or just generally twatting around waiting for assets that they then waste within 5 minutes. It's THAT that people object to.

I'm sick of people acting like its a real war zone
I know, I wish people would realise it IS a war zone.

it's also a no-spin zone !
I would say it is real, my time is real as is those I play with, the computer I play on, the cable I pay for to play, the job I have to pay for the above....all very real.
When you tell me as some boon did last week that it is just easier to ask the questions ingame instead of reading the manual, and why do I get so mad, it takes more time to be mad than it does to answer each and every question this kid had, I get angry, not mad as only dogs and Englishmen who won't come out of the sun go mad.

If you play w/o reading the manual and keep your mouth shut, ears open and follow others, someone will fill in all the details with an hour or two of playing and you can really skip reading the manual.
But to do that you have to have half a brain, and most people with half a brain just read the manual....so it kind of goes in circles ....

You guys are playing a mod that prides itself upon being much more factual than bf2 vanilla. Is it really that hard to comprehend there are people out there who want a complete, immersive experience?

Ain't I friendly enough ?

But really, walk onto a hockey rink, skates untied, stick in the wrong hands, gloves on the wrong hands, helmet on backwards, kick the goalie in the nuts, and the throw the puck at the referee ....................what do you think would happen to you in the real world if you did that ?

Oh ........ ?
You didn't do that ..... only the goalie part ( TK with APC/Tank @ long range ), and still don't understand where all the friendly people went ?

Put it another way, ever had a 4 yo ask you " Why " ?
and every answer you give them, they ask " Why ? " again ?

If so, then you know how we feel after you can't do ANYTHING because despite the fact that DL the game puts the manual on your desktop, you just started play a 2G mod w/o a clue as to how it works.

You want a friend ...........................Buy a DOG !

i think this just about sums it up. (let um down easy ADA lol)

its tough to be an experienced player and SL to boot when you have a new guy join your squad, bark orders to the SL (me) and tell me how he is gonna grab a sniper kit and lone wolf it. it is rear that i will let a sniper in my squad, (i rather have a guy with a pilot kit in an infintry squad.... they are more usefull).
i have no problem helping out a new player. all they have to do is ask. bark orders at me? its a different story.

remember folks you join a squad to be lead. if you want to be an SL put up your own squad.

actually i like having my private pilot in the squad (never rely on blue guys :D ). that barking orders to SL with a sniper kit happened to me as well actually.

one time on archer: guy joins my squad. we drive up to the airfield north as usmc to take out a spotted cache and stop south of the airfield to setup rally and check the situation. the guy already has a spec ops kit. he spots the spawns at the waterfalls south of airfield and moves in despite my orders to leave em alone and sneak up north. he started screaming at me how a stupid SL i was and stuff...he was killed while rushing into nme machine gun fire and left 2 minutes later :D

now THAT's annoying. i agree with AD&A in his saying that ppl who do what they're told to do are not a problem :) .

as time goes on in pr you will find the right places to play and you will remeber the highly strung guys to avoid, dont give up on it and just try out more squads and work with them stay close at all times
