I'm really not a big fan of this idea, considering how complicated it can make just reloading. I think turning off auto reload is good enough, but then again, I say this partly because I would never use this feature. Then again, I doubt many people would, because it's just not that practical, plus, it takes away from the whole resupply thing.

I don't count my shots per se, but I definitely keep a good idea of how many are left, and rarely end up being caught with my pants down. Usually, though, when I figure it's time to reload, I'll stand up and fire off the rest of my clip in their direction.

Bottom line though, I think what would be more annoying than running out of ammo in you clip, is having to keep track of how much ammo is in each magazine, and I'd almost rather be completely out of ammo than loading nearly dry clips again.

I realy like the Idea of partial mags. I don't think multi key press is realy the answer though. It realy would add to the reality of the mod. I can only imagine a running battle, reloading that last clip and it only has two rounds in it, lol.

So, whats the chance of this becoming part of the mod?

I think reload times need to be lengthened significantly, and while I'd like to see persistant magazines, the current system works fine in my opinion.

I agree with nikov, slowing down the reloads is a good idea.

And no reloading while sprinting! with the new patch this is enabled, are they retarded??? I want to watch a videclip of one of the EA DEVs attempt to RELOAD an assault rifle while sprinting..... now that would be comedy.

In the current version you can reload while sprinting, assuming you start the reload then double tap 'w' to start sprinting.

So you are saying its impossible or near impossible to do such a thing? The only hard part would be getting the new mag from the vest after that, not too hard imo.

during a full out sprint?! Why don't you try it. Maybe your experince is greater than mine.. but for me, reloading a magazine is something that requires a fair amount of attention. Some weapons are very finicky about the angles, how firm you push them in, ect ect. If you "ram" a magazine in too hard it might not seat properly, which is a good thing to do if you love a feeding jam. I think that a full out sprint (as in the devil is breathing down your neck, or what those olympic guys do) pretty much makes reloading a weapon if not impossible, very risky, and unwise.

but that's just me.

Yeah, I think it would be impossible to reload while sprinting.

When sprinting, all you are thinking about is SPRINTING I had a hard time reloading while WALKING, I still can't do it while RUNNING, I laugh when I try to picture myself doing it while SPRINTING ...

And all of that is with one quarter of the weight Airsoft replicas!

You guys are acting like you are running the 100m dash in perfect form and then trying to reload. Any of you could out run most soldiers wearing all their combat gear. So that means you dont see soldiers running like a track star, even the BF2 animation the guy isnt "sprinting".

So let me rephrase.
No you cant reload when sprinting like michael johnson.
Yes I think its possible to reload while running at the speed a fully loaded soldier would run.

I know for a fact you can reload while running. This doesn't include the saw. That would be a pain in the ***. But mp5, m16 I have done reloads on the run in real life.

A jog. (double time march) or whatever you'd like to call it... i'd say it's possible but not at a 100% effort to haul ***. No matter what I think that it's either going to slow down the speed that your going to move, or the lengthen the time needed to load the weapon. There's always a trade off somewhere... no such thing as having your cake and eating too..

Exactly. Also when you are sprinting, you are much more likely to fumble your reload, and either A) Drop your mag or B) Have a round seated improperly (causing a jam)

Massive bump, wohoo.

I didn't want to make a new thread for this, but I agree with fuzzhead - you should NOT be able to reload while sprinting.
I would even go so far and say that you should not be able to reload a LMG while running.
Maybe even limit reloading all assault rifles to standing still.
We are not talking about Chuck Norris in Delta Force, but about the normal grunt... I read that DEDMON5811 is able to reload while running (and I'm sure there are others who can), but I don't think that is common...
It also would take speed out of the game and make it less "run'n gun"

PS: Be aware that I have my fireproof suit on.
