good, I'm tired of sniping/counter-sniping (trying to anyway) guys sniping US who are perfectly still, I'm perfectly still, and lag or no lag (unless 10 or 12 guys on gloryhounds lags)...

ha, I have fixed my problems with the m24...

WAIT for it!

use the dragunov :D

that thing is a nail-driver, and double taps are fairly easy even at extreme ranges. the squad of 5 guys ontop of a roof last night can attest to the ability to quickly re-engage multiple targets after initial trigger pull.

use the m24, and you'd be there all DAY just trying to take out 2 of them, let alone all 5 before anyone got wise to you.

Sorry USMC snipers!
No problem mate^^
But why the hell sometimes on long range 1 shot means 1 kill, and sometimes closer means 6 shots and 1 kill... this 1 is you, becouse guy is turning back and shooting you back with mg ^^

didn't want to start another m24 thread so i'll just awaken this one

after .25 the m24 still seems worthless, i know its nerfed to prevent the game degenerating into another snipers wars affair but the recent update really hasn''t improved it enough. Considering its a slow bolt action sniper rifle you would think that it would have better accuracy than the semi's, but no.

atm the semi's are prefect, well done devs btw, thier not overly accurate but getting prone in a gd position means you can have some impact on tying down a squad, its slight inaccuracy means that it takes 2/3 shots to take down a target but thier semi's so its no problem, just pop off the shots until the target spins around in thier exagerated death throws.

the m24 on the other hand is another kettle of fish, you can be prone and not have moved the crosshairs in over five minutes yet ur still most likely to miss a human size target, even at mid range and becuase you now have to bolt the target has probably legged it or gone prone, and then u'll really stuggle to hit him. The m24 atm really is worthless imo.

while i'm at it is there any chance of some deviation stats, too possibly prove me wrong. would be nice to get some stats on all the weapons really.

maybe i'm coming over too overly ciritcal so i'll just add .25 ROCKS !!! :)

'[R-DEV wrote:IRONxMortlock']Ok, I think it's time I step in here and make my mistake known :o ops:

This one is my fault guys. The M24 is not as accurate as the MEC and CH sniper rifles. I failed to completely check the files for these when we updated them.

This has been corrected and you find a better M24 in our next release.

Sorry USMC snipers!

blink you must of missed this post.

a few days ago, i was playing sniper, and with my new video card (X800GTO) i could finally see just how bad the rifle was! id be perfectly still and at 200 meters, my shot would ALWAYS be off target by a good foot and a half or 2.

ugh, more of the same...

usually when I can find nice hiding spots I can manage to get some kills... but I find myself going through lets say 30 rounds for every 10 kills, sometimes less sometimes more.

thats an awful lot of bullets for a bolt-action rifle... especially when each one gives away your position, getting the follow-up show that is 95% of the time needed with the m24 can be mighty tricky.

FIX

Meh. We're better of with a b0rked M24, the last thing we need is more people filling up the squads as snipers.

no ya see.. just no

cause right now the MEC and chinkernesse get a semi-automatic long range dead-on-sight killing machine

we get a bolt-action very very inaccurate **** machine.

I dont see how it would be any different, except that we might kill what we 'aim' at.
