The M14 is outdated its too old and the military doesn't use em anymore

yes the military uses them. US Rangers use a marksman config of m 14, and Navy SEALs use a bread 'n butter m 14 rifle. i think it would make more sense to give engies a carbine with very limited ammo or a mp5 type gun along with claymores, mines, and c4. remove the ability to repair tanks though. tanks should have to go back to a base to be repaired or make a driver class and allow him to repair

I think the engineers should be fitted with:

M16A4 w/ 3 + 1 mags
1 anti-tank mine
1 anti-personnel mine
1 satchel charge (basically C4, but more powerful and can destroy key targets like bridges)

We usually don't manpack mines. Kinda hard to set up a mine field (which is what you do with mines BTW) when you only pack 1. The quickest meathod I've used is running a M-113 with the ramp down and a human chain feeding them out the back, while a squad follows and emplaces them/Arms them. No way are you going to get a realistic Combat Engineer experiance as it is right now. They should do away with the mines entirely and use the Combat Engineer as a demolitons expert. That is really what we do now a days most often as the terrorist really don't sport a large armor force. Just let the Engineers pack some serious punch in the form of Satchel charges or if anti-armor is ur thing, give each engineer one Hornet AT mine. Now that is an AT mine. This would be nice in PR... Long Video about the SEALS which is very good and thye use the M14 in it. I wasn't sure that Force Recon used them, but just assumed it because I heard the SEALS and other Special Forces used them.

How does your brother like Force Recon?

Thats a marine corps rifle man I thought the mod was going to change the marines to the army on this mod

I could have sworn most combat engineers carried M4s or M16s, but I could be wrong.

Anyway, I say give the engie a rifle, take away his mines and give him C4, one M93, grenades, anti-personel mines, and remove his wrench.

I think the engineer should specialize in anti-tank mines and an explosive device that could be used blow up bridges, artillery, radars, etc. Giving him grenades, anti-personnel mines, and an M93 (what's that? lol) is overkill.

Also, that's a great sig (about the immigrant thing)

An M93 is a more realistic anti-tank weapon.
C4 would be used to blow up strategic objects.
Anti-personell mines only make sense, he's an engineer, I think that's what engineers do.

The granades and such are optional, but he definetly needs a rifle.

I hear its possible to have multiple kits per class. Or at least it should be. For example when you unlocked a weapon in VBF2 you could switch between them.

there could be 2 dif kits of engineers,one with a much more powerful block of c4 and a hornet and one with 2 claymores (remote detonated). both kits would carry ARs or carbines

I personaly think that, IF multiple kits are doable, eg chosing differnet load-outs for a kit class, then a shotgun should be given to the assualt along with a carbine.

I dont think you understand. Give the assualt class the choice of either the M16/M203, or the M4/Shotgun.
This isnt unrealistic, as Marines use shotguns in Iraq as a breaching weapon as well as a CQB weapon when clearing buildings and tight spaces.

its realistic if u take away the carbine. why would anyone choose the shotgun loadout unless your trying to storm the aleeyways at karkand? m16/203 combo would own and close and long range. when i use the shotgun at close range it usually takes 2 hits to the chest at point blank to take someone down
