Easier said then done..

In real life the pilot can control also the gun and hellfires, and I am very sure it is possible to do.

Why would you want a tiny screen to display what the gunner sees, you wouldn't be able to see much, and you'll probly have to hold the mouse look button to even look down at it, thus locking your helicopter controls. Why not just put another camera into its rotation and displays what the gunner sees. This way, you could simulate looking down at the screen, and actually see something, and still keep a little control over your bird.
I know it would be cool to have the screens and instruments working like in a real helicopter, but the amount of work required for just a little bit more coolness factor, seems like a waste of time.

There you have it,an actual R-CON saying it's possible.

Weellll... you could place the hud objects so they appeared to sit on a texture inside the cockpit. But thats just semantics.
Point:
You CANNOT have TWO CAMERAS showing TWO SEPARATE THINGS (Pilots view and gunner view) on the SAME SCREEN at the SAME TIME.
We CAN have TWO SEPARATE CAMERAS which you select SEPARATELY by pressing one of the weapon select keys (1-9).
Suppose I am flying an Apache:
Camera 1 = pilot view = 1 key
Camera 2 = gunner view = 2 key
so when I press "1" I select the pilots view.
and when I press "2" I select what the gunner sees.
Understand?

Yes you can. Well... yes. There may be some ammunition/maglinking problems but yeah its possible.

it wouldn't be all in the cockpit , you would just rotate your weapon selection bringing up the gun cam

R-CON is contributor. If an R-DEV said it was possible, that would be another story. But as you can see [R-DEV]CAS_117 (PR Coder Team) said it wasn't possible. I'm sure he would know better then a contributor what the bf2 engine can be coded to do.

its not like alex doesn't know what hes talking about , him and cas work together on stuff like this

Um... I said the pilot controlling the gun and hellfires was possible, as did Alex unless I am missing something?

Sorry Alex, I didn't mean to imply you don't know what you're talking about. But, you didn't exactly specify what you said was possible. And Marc-5ive was jumping to conclusions because you used the word 'possible' in your reply. I just wanted to point out that a member of the coder team said it was impossible to have 2 screens onscreen at once.

Lol do not worry, I definitely do not know as much and I didn´t make it clear.
I don´t see the usefullness though, best thing is have the laser targets appear on the pilots hud

and the pilot have a seperate flir camera to the gunner to look with.
Even then the pilot is most likely concentrating on flying.

use it so you can see over the gunners big head infront of you=P
i have not read it all in detail yet, but , like how in vinnila, you had a small screen showing the guns location.. cant you use that same thing and just attach a camera to see what the gunner is seeing....probly not scince they sead its imposible for 2 screens at once.....
you woulld just think it would have been possible to take the link into what the gunner seas from his camera and show it to the polot on a smaller screen... o well

ya maybe we could have it be like 1-9 or something like that, if it is less work to do then do that, idk.

I would like to see this feature, at the very least, added to PR SP, it would be nice to see if the gunner actually has any targets when your gunner is a bot and can't tell you over VOIP.

Ya, ive always wondered what a bot views and how it sees.

You could have the pilot control the hellfires and the gun but you have to keep in mind that maglinking only supports two weapons.
If you want to get really technical, the gunner can also pilot in real life. And the weapons on the pylons are on articulated mounts that can depress and elevate. Possible to implement, a pain to reflect on the HUD and control.

ya ive seen pics of a collective and cyclic in the gunners seat.
