Just needs balance.
NO NO NO we coded that in as a dev hack.

The engine isnt 100% all the time which is why you see this happing sometimes. You all need to stop thinking like quake players. The idea is for you all to act like its a real world not a huge polygon.

A 3 meter jump is really huge, hell some of you fatty's couldn't really do it anyways :-P

But itz liek realz!

yeah, we should be more careful tbh

though, the blood in ur face is a bit much. Can the blood effect be limited to the bleed level?

I admit falling 9-12 feet would hurt like hell especially with 50 pounds of gear
Will I have bloodshot eyes? No I don't think so.
Oh, Red and Rudd. I have one thing to say to you.

Blood Effect = General visualization of pain, since "feeling" is hardcoded.

BUT I disagree about the "be careful" part. When I'm near the border of anything higher than 2m, I generally always lag down. In any game.

Yeah but I'm really just hanging and dropping off the roof and not leaping off.

Well, certainly engine limitations are a problem for this, but the fact that you can't jump off a one-story house without seeing blood is just a problem, and it's not realistic. In BF2, you can't get down on the ground and lower yourself off the roof, you have to jump off. So while you probably couldn't comfortably jump off a roof wearing all your combat gear, you could certainly get off it without going down the stairs.

Also, 50 lbs is simply not enough weight to cause you to do significant damage to yourself jumping. I normally hike with around 60-75 lbs in my pack, and I routinely jump across rocks, etc, without seeing blood. Granted, my hands are free, but I assume soldiers are willing to hand off their weapons to move around if necessary.

I can understand wanting to keep people from jumping out of apartment buildings and such, but a one-story jump should be routine, not life-endangering. Especially when Korengal Valley is set up such that insurgents must jump that much to get out of their spawns (and don't excuse that by saying you can lay down and crawl down--you still can get hurt that way).

If you want to keep people from jumping, remove the damn jump control. It causes more problems in this game than anything else, apparently.

I don't do this in real life, or any games. I don't see why I should do it in PR. If I'm getting shot at, that's a different story. For starters, it only happens on Friday nights in real life.

i played airsoft not long ago and tripped over a log and pretty much threw my M-14 about 4 feet away and nailed my knee on some rock. Swear to god, i was "suppressed" for about a minute and my vision turned red with rage.

PR is simply copying what happened to me that day, and i was ground level! never mind 9-12 feet in up. I like to think of it as a "shame-out" instead of bleed out. Think of it as your squad mates laughing at your l33tness of falling over a pixel.

I mean, I'm all for the bleeding in the face. It's just like the suppression effect. Not realistic in itself, but produces a realistic effect. Your fighting skills are obviously decreased quite a bit. Anyhow, I find it perfectly logical to assume that you might at least sprain your ankle or hurt, but bleed out to a serious point? Like some others said in this thread, I think falling from that high of a height should take off 20% health just enough to make it so you wont bleed out.

But this "problem" doesn't bother me at all, I've found ways to get around, I'm just asking for those who are annoyed.
