I love your tips.
And i might have one that i keep yelling at my squad when i lead:
Save your sprints!
Use them to move across the street, walk when your in cover, walk along the wall. I often see people sprint to keep up. Don't they're not going to leave you behind if you keep talking to them, tell them to slow down or keep yelling: Save your sprints!
You'll need to sprint when you're under fire.
There is no need to hurry yet, so save it for when you really need it.
There is nothing worse then being under fire and only able to jog to safety.

Re: Basic Tactics of a Infantryman
One of the more obscure points that a lot of people miss is that a lot of the grass in this game does not disappear at distance like battlefield 2. This means that there are plenty of situations where if you're prone, opfor can walk right past you and not even realise you're there. All you have to do is remain prone, and for the love of everything that's good, don't stand up. If you stand up, you will get yourself, and everyone else in your squad killed.
If you are committed to staying still in the grass prone, you can even have entire enemy squad bypass you, even in the swamp in Kozelsk, where the grass is not that high.

Re: Basic Tactics of a Infantryman
This is what I always tell my pointman:
"If you spot the enemy and they don't see you - STOP>MOVE INTO COVER> TELL ME
But if they see you/ fire at you then just start pumping a clip into them and let the rest of the squad move into a good position, dont just lie there and try to take an aimed shot untill we are in a good spot"
I also dissagree with people who want to use fireteams on PR from 1 squad. The more rifles firing from your guys the better. You might say "Oh but the enemy can flank you with a fireteam of their own" - Whilst in REAL LIFE this is true, an engagement in PR where 6 guys are taking on 3 is most likely going to be over before the 'flanking enemy' has flanked. Thereby leaving them with a few options:
1) Continue assault on you anyway - Normal Result: They get obliterated by your 6 men
2) Revive their downed teammates - Normal Result: They get obliterated by your 6 men
3) Retreat - Normal Result: They are 3 men down and will wander the map until they are obliterated by someone
Whilst there have been many occasions where fireteams may have worked, a good 6 man squad who aren't grouped together like a bunch of grapes will win 99% of the time. However, fireteams may work in ambushes. But not where you have 3 on either side of the road.
On PR I find the best ambush to be a sort of L shaped one whereby one fireteam, say fireteam 1 waits for the enemy to GO PAST them and warns the other (fireteam 2). When they reach the fireteam 2 they will be attacked from the side whilst at the same time fireteam 1 moves into a position behind the enemy who have already passed them. Avoiding friendly fire and blocking a retreat into safe territory.

Great read here, I am bumping it up because it should be read by more people. There are a bunch of people who currently play that could benefit from this read.
Hope they take the time.

Yeh. When all goes wrong & you're bleeding and have no packs and a medic is too far away, find another pack & swap for more field dressings.Astromici wrote:Awesome tips, keep it up! I've always sorta screamed at squad leaders in my head who just run across the street and have their team follow. For medics: Treating the injured is your SECOND priority-Keeping yourself alive is the first.
