As for the idea, it would be awesome, but a pain in the *** to code, if possible at all.
You completly misquoted me i meant the USA night uniforms glow too much at night. I wasn't talking about thermal effects at all.

It'd be awesome if lighting did work. Just imagine jeeps with headlights, Spec Ops with LAMs mounted on their weapons, the little bird with a big spotlight mounted on the front. It'd be bliss. :D

It can create massive amounts of lag.

all I have to say about this thread.... ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahhahahahahah

look up shaders... and statics dont give off heat... If you want thermal vision remember you can apply it to alpha channels.. like people, vehicles and weapons... so thermal could work... its all there just need to build the code.

if your such a smarty why dont you put together something more useful than a "just look at/use this *thing*, all it needs is the code"

Some statics require heat. To make it truly realistic (and people WILL expect that from this mod, you know as well as me people will complain if it's a half assed job) heat will need to affect other objects. A burning vehicle will spread heat around nearby. A guy sitting near a fire will heat up. Guns will need to get brighter as they overheat. Water will need to cool people down, but burning vehicles will warm up the water. Explosions will have a heating effect.

It sounds like a lot of work for something that's going to potentially ruin the game by making it just too easy.
