Damn... Thats one horrifying scene. Car accident can be if not more scary and fatal than Gun accident/incident. At least from what I saw on TV/Internet.

List of motor vehicle deaths in U.S. by year - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It says in wikipedia (have no better source) that about 43,000 people was killed last year due to car accidents. While gun killed about 10,000.
Sigh... Bias against guns. We should ban car before we ban gun.

I'm personally against adding car damage when running over player. It only contributes to balance instead of reality. Car could get damaged, as seen on above video when human body impacts window but body does not take so much damage that it disables the vehicle. And I imagine that if car has Push Bumper, car certainly will not get any damage unless human body hits window.

What I want is damage to Driver/Vehicle when slams into wall at top speed. I saw tons of APC and Humvee trying to run over player only to slam into wall after wall at 40MPH and player never dies from it. This is much more unrealistic than Insurgent Hatchback not taking damage from running over a human object.

With modern car, I do expect to survive more or less when I slam into wall at 40MPH with my medium sedan. With completely wrecked car. The reason why your car crush up so much when in accident is solely to save you by car absorbing impact of crash instead of your body crushing like the collapsible car in your driver seat.

But I'm not sure if I can stay alive when inside of solid APC. Because I don't think APC and military Humvee has any collapsible body to absorb impact to save vehicle occupant unlike civilian vehicle.

Instead of making the vehicle be damaged, how about the player takes non-lethal damage, say, 50%? That way running someone over isn't a tactical option any more. I've seen "road rage" squads in muttrah. Waste of a good asset to me.

Whether vehicle take what kind of damage is dependent to speed of vehicle/ type of vehicle/ object being hit.

So just because Humvee is armored or Truck looks big should not prejudge this what kind of damage vehicle takes from running over a human simulation.

Truck can be huge. But just because vehicle is big does not mean the outer body of truck or grill is any thicker/harder compare to Ford Escort. Or just because it's a sedan does not mean the outer body of sedan is weak. Such as heavy vehicle like Ford Lincoln.

My idea for solution is to add a system where Driver or passenger of vehicle takes damage from crashing into wall/telephone poll/ditch/ or when vehicle jumps around a lot due to rough terrain.
I believe the player will take some damage if you crash into a telephone poll, or wall hard enough and even if you make the vehicle jump around a lot. I have had some odd incident of accidentally missing a turn and smashing an APC into a wall and imploding (watch the myth buster video, or the vid of the F4 phantom being flung into a concrete barrier) or even backing up a logi truck from a repair station and parking it into the camo net makeshit garage and somehow blowing up.

But, if you think about it, as hitman and others have pointed out, if your going full speed, or even 75% and u hit something, or someone the vehicle might not sustain threatening damage but, underneath it could very well.....though i am no mechanic, nor do i have any RL experience with working with cars, or RL experience creating models etc.

I was just trying to possibly add more realism to the mod in respects to blufor sides and opfor sides which do not include insurgents or taliban factions. Yes there are times when running over a player is inevitable, but seeing a player commandeer a vehicle simply to run over people even those who are not a threat imho is misusing the asset/vehicle & only makes them lose credibility, but that's mho.
