We wanted to Focus on Air Superiority. I find that the Apache/havoc can hold their own when they are attacked by an enemy fighter. And they especially can return fire, when patient enough.

Simply put:

Focusing on air-to-air combat and air-to ground and ground-to-air (AA) and tank-to-tank. This allows up to put all four elements together. The Ground attack planes are slower and less effective air-to-air but seriously beefed air-to-ground, there is a conflict of interest. Don't you think?

Yeah, if you had ground attack planes, depending on the other team, they would either get shot down near instantanously or would annihilate an enemy tank formation. Keeping these assets out allows for the most part air to worrt about air and ground to worry about ground but when you do encounter ground to air or air to ground combat it will be more of a balance.

Also awesome job on the effort put in and organization of this event!

Be advised, I believe we are going to remove the Apaches, and we might be adding a two seater or two.

Eh....

The attack helos are special though, and require a certain finesse (Think G500 mouse) to use effectively.

CAS aircraft just stay up at 1500 alt once you get air superiority, and then dive at a marker, drop a bomb and 1000 alt, and go back to 1500. If there's a lase, you'll dive down, lock-fire at about 800, and then back up to 1500.

I'd rather have the Apache tbh.

They wernt of much use in the test match. If they ddnt get shot down easily by jets, they were pwned by tank rounds. Its been decided that they will be removed and maybe a couple more Littlebirds for scouting purposes, they were used during the round to good effect scouting for tanks, and for Rogue when he was recording videos and getting shot at despite telling the whole server that he was 'nuetral' lol.

Then what about the A-10.

A-10s or the airplane that has the area attack HUDs.

A-10 just requires a lase or for people to clear out before the 1k lb bomb drops, along with a marker on the target.

Anyhow attack helos need changes if you're going to have slightly realistic numbers of armor.

I did kill two tanks during the round. Once on a lase, the other some strafings with my guns. I finished off the round killing it too, everyone got to watch my jet actually land in the middle of the desert at the end too.

Well not everyone gets to fly bro, so we have to take a balanced approach with the ratio of aircraft and tanks.

I admit, if we had more players it would be very intense, a great game still though.

i mean, we managed to get 39guys to download and install the map mod for the first actual test.

next friday lets try to get a whole server filled :D

i loved the total chaos the F16's brought with their JDAM's on the bunkers, really something i would see more :razz:
