exactly whati was thinking pulls the clip out and u see no bullet or bullet...kinda cool...like this idea

Yea something like thats nice. I was thinkin it mainly for the MGs. I mean you can theoretically peek into the box and see whats there.
But if it is possible to do the animation and coding, I don't think you should do every bullet. There should maybe be 4 different "looks" for it. Maybe have empty, single bullet, looks like a handful, looks like a shitload. Or maybe even mix handful and shitload together on the rifles cause I doubt you can see that far into it to make sense. So maybe 3 looks for rifles, 4 for MGs or something(at least the SAW, I'm not sure about the RPK).
Though pistols might be a problem with their peekholes in the back.
If only the BF2 engine wasn't so crappily made.

Im going to have to say that this idea, no matter how awsome it may be, will not be implemented because of the engine restrictions... But hey, if we were modding condemed, then that would be a good possibility

I don't think anyone suggested this yet: how about you make it so instead of a number for ammo count, we see a wight in the lower left. The real soldier may be able to judge ammo by the wight of the gun/mag. This way, it would say "heavy" when the gun is mostly full, "light" when it is running low, and "very light" when it is nearly empty. Let me know if that makes sense.

I suggested a similar version, except yours is probably simpler to code in. But then again I think someone else suggested the feeling of the weight of the mags.
