APC/BTR mean TRANSPORT&SUPPORT!!!

Players are hardcoded. There's a large proportion of people, even who frequent these forums, who would still rather go it alone than give support. It's just the way it is. They're the people who fly cobras in ways that they consider the best way for the map, completely ignoring safe, well thought out and seriously required infantry CAS requests.

Sometimes the infantry can manage without APC support, or APC support is plain unnecessary - but if they request it, APCs should drop everything to support infantry.

I don't care how many kills you've got as a gunner, I care about how many infantrymen died under what should have been your watch.

I half agree with this. Most people treat APC's like mini-tanks, and dont bother to suport the infantry.

Right on! The vast majority do probably believe that APC means "mini-tank".

I remember a hilarious incident on Al-Kufrah (UKWF server) were my clan made the mistake of naming our squad "IFV" and got into an argument with the squad named "APC" over who had dibs on the BMP3s.

We tried to edjucate our fellow gamers a bit on the fact that IFV stands for Infantry Fighting Vehicle (BMP1, BMP2, BMP3 - all are IFVs, in fact BMP is "Russian" for IFV) but they were not keen on listening and gave us cheeky remarks on the team chat when some infantry squad requested a pick-up:
"Let them do it, they are the Infantry Fighting Vehicle squad ha ha" and totally missing out on the hilarous fact that their own squad was named APC which means Armoured Personell Carrier i.e. "battlefield taxi" (of course to them APC meant "mini-tank" and nothing else...)
