An Afghanistan and Philippines scenario is what I'd like to see.

What about city wars?

I really prefer city to a jungle...
Maybe Bosnia.

Keep in mind that urbanized terrain will be featured in whichever scenario we choose.

realy depends what the storyline and sides of the mod are

like if its USA vs Russia it should realy be Middle Eastern + Southern parts of Russia maybe Eastern Europe too

if there realy was a World war 3 it'd be just that a WORLD war so you can pretty much have battlefields wherever the hell you like and the variety is good

Forest temperate simply cause it has the most options for a wide variety of maps and how the are structure... i feel extreme weather like tundra or desert limits what you can and cant do.

I don't think that's too much of an option.

yeah, i dont see us being able to make every army in the world

i didn't necessarily mean every country!! , i meant Battles between the major sides can take place pretty much anywhere in the world

I voted desert, with mountains a close second. Ya know, there are mountains in the desert!

If you ask me, I think that Afghanistan would be the best choice.

Afghanistan and another nation. But which other nation? the Philippines? If we chose the Philippines, this would allow us to feature a jungle and/or swampy form of terrain in the mod.

I picked mountains, because it would allow for all types of cool scenarios and ambushes and whatnot.

hhmm you have to make a big variety in the maps, otherwise it will be "boring", so desert city mountain grass, jungle, underground, sea, iraq, everything will be cool

i got an idea that i think people would like.

how bout each release is sorta like a new campaign.

example: Mountains!

-10th mountain Division
-skins are tuned to that climate
-a few new maps for each campaign.

The modern 10th Mountain Division is a standard Light Infantry Division and it's soldiers receive no more training in that type of environment than any other US Army division. The "Mountain" designation is a holdover for the sake of tradition and to honor the unit's WWII role.

It would be nice to have a dedicated mountain infantry unit, but unlike Europe the US doesn't have any (comparatively) high-altitude mountain ranges. The USMC Mountain Warfare School is in the Sierra Nevadas and the Army's is in Vermont, run by the Vermont Army National Guard. Army Special Operations Command has one at Ft. Carson, Colorado run by the 10th SFG(A) that other services can get slots to.

It would be nice to expand these schools and send some instructor cadre to the Royal Marine Commando or Bundeswehr Mountain Leader Courses, and get some mountain infantry batts up and running, training their scout platoons for lead-climbing and other mountaineering skills. HALO and SCUBA will get you to land, but they won't help you traverse it, and possible future deployment areas (Colombia, Nepal, etc.) are mountainous.

That having been said, I would also like to see a mountain map or two.

I get mental of desert on my LCD screen, then wonder those that have to life in it IRL. Go jungle, true fighter environment. But as we ain't got any major conflicts in jungle area I like the Chinese environment and would probably like Afghanistan's geography.
