i voted mountains, theres alot of soldiers in afganistan fighting in 2 feet of snow. If its to be realistic, there should be atleast one snow battle.

Why limit yourself like this right off the bat? Most modern wars can be fought from multiple locations. The command I work at is involved from pole to pole (USTRANSCOM) and we have missions to the all the regular places, but also to Antartica and Greenland. The models won't change, just the skins.

Don't worry, we will pick a few, just wondering what people like the most :) Hope that cleared the misunderstanding up...

In that case, I think mountains and jungles would be the most interesting. Each would offer plenty of hides for snipers and sneakers. Plenty of interesting terrian and chances for multiple locations worldwide as well as changes in vegitation and terrian types.

I voted forset, Id like some maps that put you in a forest kinda like weapons bunkers climate but with more trees and grass and bushes and stuff to hide in. Maybe with a big river, and the promary objective would be to cross that river, and maybe secure diferent enemy checkpoints along the road. But a variety of many maps would be nice. Maybe campains(sp) that take pklace in different places such as a desert camapain(sp). And a temprate one with maybe some mountain/tundra fighting tied in. And in both of these you may tie in some urban combat.

I would like to see a setup (for a map) with a continental divide type landscape... (Mountains divide two different natural landscape enviornments, something along these lines:

On one side (the east side usually which has less rain) something like one of these:

http://www.unu.edu/mountains2002/photoe ... /44web.jpg
http://www.unu.edu/mountains2002/photoe ... /32web.jpg

In between the sides would be something like this: http://www.unu.edu/mountains2002/photoe ... /47web.jpg
http://www.chiefhosa.com/Images/Views/hosaview1.jpg
http://www.chiefhosa.com/Images/Views/hosaview9.jpg

And on the western (rainy side) something like this:

http://www.calpoly.edu/~dknapp/redwoods.jpg
http://www.wlcj.org/norcal/graphics/redwoods.jpg

Or maybe even (for western side) a more dramatic vegitation change:

Of course the downside to having more than one enviornment on one map, is unless the soldiers can dynamically change their camo accordingly, they would stick out like a sore thumb.

Tired of the old standby? I think forest and desert is something we should have in there, but we should concentrate on other environments. No reason not to be diverse.

forests will be nice because its new and offers good infantry cover, which BF never had.. the sprites for the tree models would have to be top quality though to make it look nice :)

There were no forests in BF1942. There were single trees here and there, but that's it.

there were never proper forests, the biggest clumps of trees were in EL Al where there were like 4 trees close to each other
