I love the PKM in CQB and long range as the power dominates but it guess thats down to personal preference, also are LMGs not a very big part of fire fights, thus should be included in the discussion?

gnaaah...it is not about machine guns....one single LMG cannot decide what a firefight ends like....you can start a flankin maneuver with half of ur squad and get rid of it, or smoke and find another position or retreat like 100m only, let em chase you comin out of their holes and get them that way, that works in cities with lots of cover...looks different in a desert without cover, but what kind of tarded squadie sends his men through the sands on a long distance run without armor or a second squad on their back to cover them..think about it

it all depends on the medic and YOUR will to survive, if you run across the streets like stupid you simply deserve to die....and do not expect any medic to get you revived in such a situation, even with smokes up and surpressing fire - the MG knows your position well

we had that accuracy/deviation thing many times, and i think it is good as it is now...for me i realized such a thing after patch v0.65something to 0.7 afaik....in .65 the rifles were so much inaccurate you couldn't kill a bear if he crossed the road right in front of you on mestia (^^BEAR!)...but the firefights were truly epic and lasted longer then now....medics had all the time of the world to do their job, squadies were able to plan their next maneuvres, people ran across the streets like stupid ...because they knew that even if someone is prone camping only 50m away they won't get hit....or was it vice versa, i can't remember

anyway i love it as it is now, because it makes the game more speedy and exciting...i mean we have no more rallypoints, the firebases are still too far away from the actual frontline many times, the IFV/APC still do not transport people as they should do - so in general people are ffff AFRAID TO DIE...they tend to stick around SL and medic, and you can even see squads retreat quite often now, to find a better position, to flank around or do whatever

but little i know, i don't play SL no more

It can decide the outcome of a fight, simply with how effective it is. I've been on the giving and receiving end of a SAW absolutely obliterating whole squads simply due to its ROF and stupid accuracy.

'Flanking maneuver' is just a term that coins real life actions, which 99% of the time don't translate properly into PR. In real life there is a fear of death, that all officers will take into account when considering an offensive action.....but in PR there is little care for life which means the SAW can often sprint around a corner, spray (note: he doesn't have to pray) and completely wipe out a squad.

One guy I know (AntarcticTheFox) once killed 12 people, 2 full squads, in the south rock fortification on Barra without zooming in once, or taking one shot.

I often send my squad members on a huge walk in the open if there is no transport available; walking is very very underestimated. I once walked from south bunkers to south village, roughly 900m in about 5 minutes, we proceeded to cap regardless of 2 BMP's and a T-72 which attacked us.

I prefer a 1st class walk to a 3rd class ride...

As Rhino said on the first page, good firefights are about the map itself, the distanecs between you and the enemy.
IMO the best firefights happened on Ejod when teams were exchanging fire between the gardens and the desert fortification in the north. The reason these were good was because there was an area of fairly open ground between two built up areas with good cover. Its like two pirate ships shooting at each other over water.

The ingredients for a good firefight are
a.) large groups of players on both teams engaged in the same fight
b.) Good cover for both teams
c.) a fairly large sense of self-preservation
On Ejod it was the last flag for MEC and the US were making a push to hold them out of the city from the north meaning it had all of these ingredients.
Its entirely dependant on map imo

I have had plenty of fire fights in almost all the versions of PR I played. Notable examples have been defending the Qwai river estate for over and hour, trading fire with a squad in a similar building who are defending a flag on muttra, almost anytime a squad leader says to pour fire on that attack marker.

i agree 100% with this statement, this also makes me remember how fun that map could be

For any future maps I would hope fire fights would be something to keep in mind, I hate having almost all engagments last maybe 5 seconds or a few shots exchanged at HUGE distances.

Fire Fight in PR? For me there is no such thing, even if the squad vs squad is exchanging fire 80% of the shots are "right on target" and ofc medic have a bit of a job.

Now days people just prone/crouch when see target, they wait 3-5 sec and boom headshot... This game/mod shouldnt be about "who count the time better". Even if u wait 10 min in one position u could missed your target.

Right so suggestion, rifle accuracy always the same or it gets very little better after 1 or 2 sec.

No way, my rifle is for kiling, not for supresing, or making fucking manuevers, if someone is going to supress the enemy that one is the AR boy. because that is he's role at all. here a exemplo how a bad *** rifleman can be

I like how the rifles got acuracy, because if AR can be rambo, i want to be rambo 2, and now is prety decent to make some beutifull headshots. and if he can hold acuracy he's big gun in 7 shoots, why i can't give at last 1 or 2 headshots acuracy? since my gun is smaler and tipical use a light caliber. means my characters is a Nooby at all? a conpscrip? bullshiet.

I just hate how persimist i am, but. if i not talk bad about the sugestion, people will just keep fucking the game that one day has much better, at last in my opnion.

I want to use my rifle has a rifle, and i want to use my LMG has a LMG, my rifle in stand up and close quarters and long range if i aim good and wait a while, and my LMG deployend in prone reedy to kill everthing IN PRONE AND IF DEPLOEND AFTER SOME TIME.

I don't supresy my self to see how many people want the old rambo AR kits back, since the weopow has just addictid boys like a drung, and now they can't survive whichtout it.

and if AR charcater is a noob, i want riflemen to be noob to and VICE VERSA OF COURSE! MAINLY VICE VERSA!, i hate how people like to show riflemans like just some one that don't kwon to shoot at all. balace is a needed in any game, and any time, you see how atomic bombs fucked our world? that is a good exemple how bad *** a rifleman can be, so shoting acuracy 2 shoots is't much at all.

and like i always say, there is a good reason to even the USA army still using M4A1 has it's main weopow, if LMG has truly superior in all aspects in real life, i sury that all marinews will carry a M249 has well, after all it is ''it is superior in real life for sure'' (I saying this ironicly)
