You know what, I think he was just angry for being kicked.
Sector, my man, join a clan if you haven't already and play with them. You will enjoy the familiarity and you can let off some steam with them. It works and I find it to be therapeutic when I get my adrenaline high from sneaking around a map and getting 2 caches and 2 hideouts. Good times in the Red Light District.
I hope you have let off your steam/frustrations, and if you have I must commend you for your candor.
And instead of calling you wrong, I believe I will conclude this thread with a simple:
"Doesn't this guy have a great name?"

Re: is this really how things are going ?
OK well thank you all for your feedback I shall relay the many points imparted. I did have the courtesy to actually read all of your comments IN FULL before jumping to any conclusions (unlike a few of you here.)
To answer a few questions/ points made.
1) I am an Admin at HeroS clan as well as Head Admin of =MBO= Clan and am very happy there and feel no need to find another clan
Thanks for the suggestion though.
2) I am relaying the points on behalf of many of my clan mates as well as people who have talked to me about it on VOIP. This is not a personal attack based on wrath or anger. It is simply the questions posed by other people as well as my self ( so a few of the replies need to consider may be not "shooting the messenger
" )
3) The reason that I included the "please do not says" is because we have already discussed those solutions at length and have already decided that these are not routes that we wish to pursue. So just throwing them all back at us has not brought any of us closer to a solution.
4) You will please note that never any where did I mentioned PRTA server, those are your own conclusions. In fact our problems with mumble started way back when it was first introduced as a compulsory tool in certain servers way back when... So please PRTA clan do not take this as an attack on you or your server because it is not.
I will finish by re-iterating the most important line in my first post. This time I will put it in bold for those that can not be bothered to read my comments fully but are oh so quick to jump to conclusions...
We are simply asking that mumblers and non-mumblers be allowed to co-inside in the same servers. I personally have been in many games where people used or didn't use mumble as they chose and we all got on fine and team work was not the issue I can tell you.
Thank you once again for your input, I shall relay my findings back to the HeroS and =MBO= concerned.

ok , Sector, muffin, youre really starting to piss me off.
Mumblers and Non-Mumblers Already Coexist
Now youre either trying to piss us off or you are missing a major part of your argument or there is a problem in the area of the language barrier.
In any case, look at the big text for my reply.
Edit: Does this have to do with European Servers in particular?

lols, asking to play on PRTA w/o mumble cuz ur too lazy to DL and use it or cuz u dont kno english is just a slap in the face to all the other players on the server that will try to communicate with u.
If u wanna "ride" on the teamwurk of other players to have a good round w/o contributing urself to it.. better go play with guys like ur own on any of the german servs.
Mumble helps a ton with cross-sq coordination and coms, sometimes im too lazy to launch it but most of the time (on PRTA) im using ingame voip, clan TS3 and mumble at the same time.. and dont sell bs about bandwich blabla.

We never considered it any kind of attack, but you are not making sense; PRTA is (currently) the only server where any of your complaints are applicable, as it is the only server where you will be kicked for not using mumble.sector7g wrote:So please PRTA clan do not take this as an attack on you or your server because it is not.
On every other server "Mumblers" and "Non-Mumblers" already co-exist to varying degrees. If that is your concern then its quite simply a non-issue.

Re: is this really how things are going ?
Every other server EXCEPT this one has happy mumblers with happy non mumblers.
You're French yes but your English reads better than mine, I've seen many times on that server a non English squad screaming away in LOCAL mumble in Russian, Hungarian whatever I think that sounds great to hear a foreign langauge used in 'battle' conditions (Russian's my favourite for that) - as long as the SL is OK with English thats OK...
Again its one server you're talking about, NWA has about what 50% mumble on average, and UKWF sometimes get enough to choose to make space for more on their weekend events.
A small part of the community has decided they prefer to play with mumble, thats all. I feel like saying I don't want to play Muttrah 24/7 so I don't go to that server.
PR is very much a community never in my life would I have thought I spend time having chats and laughs with Bosnians, Fins, Serbs, Russians, Hungarians, Norwegians, Swedes .... I almost get the impression you guys have decided to stay in a very French only area - your clans seem to be 100% French speakers.
Wicca it's: 'Beating around the bush' close - but no cigar. Although I prefer the Porridge one.

By making this choice your have chosen to reduce the number of servers you can play on, and if it applies to other VOIP programs you have also excluded yourselves from PRT too.discussed those solutions at length and have already decided that these are not routes that we wish to pursue.

Re: is this really how things are going ?
I feel the same as the OP.
I've learnt to 'put up' with Mumble though, some of the people on it and how rarely it is used (in my experience, despite attending mumble events).
Also, in regards to what another forum member said, I would actually rather use TS (even though I know TS doesn't do positional audio). It is simpler. For example, I don't need to select a server from the huge list just to begin with. My Voip macro also causes problems inside Mumble, they don't in TS.
When people speak on Mumble the sound is 'bugged'. When they do on TS, it is clear.
However, if anyone would like to help me with one of my Mumble problems
and if you're a mumble user, you might actually be able to hear yourself in the video I posted in it.

I injured a team mate, in the process of protecting him.
I was shot down by the enemy and was given 120+ seconds wait time.
I'm over it.
Uninstalling PR.

Anwers in bold.sector7g wrote:I had the miss fortune to be once again kicked from a server because I chose not to install mumble when given the choice.
Yeah well, for breaking the road rules, you get missfortunately pulled over by the police... Same on PRTA.
I will say it again: I have no problem with others wishing to "improve their audio gaming experience" - I wish them the best of luck with itbut I represent a growing number of "Non mumble users" who have, for what ever reason (tin foil hats included
chosen not to install mumble.
Its not about audo gaming directly, its for whole gaming experience. And i didnt notice growing numbers in mumblers...
1) What if I find that mumble affects my gaming band width or worse still crashes my computer out all-together thus affecting my ability to play ? does that mean that we should be excluded from the rest of PR. (please do not suggest computer up-grades as not all of us can afford them.)
If it crashes your computer, you shall not play on the mumble only server. My friends game crashes on multiplayer after 30 minutes, so he is unable to play it at all, mumble or not. If it effect your gaming bandwith, you must have really bad internet.
2) What if I can not stand the general cacophony and lack of radio discipline that unfortunately occurs ? (please do not suggest muting ourselves in mumble because there is just no point in running it at all if that is the case.)
I dont find spam on mumble, because there is none. TS3 and stuff alike is different story.
3) What if I do not speak English and find the whole mumble thing too daunting a task to deal with ? Much less find that people only speak English on mumble a language that not all of us are familiar with.
English is universal language, what do you expect. I get really mad when i hear the commander talking in german, armou guys talk french and some infantry talks german. What is this, i dont even...
4) Put the shoe on the other foot: How would the PR community feel about other servers ruthlessly enforcing TS2/3 rules and kicking any one who is not on TS2/3. Do you think that this sort of thing would really benefit the community ?
No, because Mumble is not the same as TS3.
I guess my question to the community is that in light of the fact that server numbers and PR players seem to be declining do we really want to divide the community into mumble and non mumble users/servers at a time when it would seem to me that we need to stand united as a community rather than be broken down and split over something so small as a comms device ?
That comms device opened up so many options for PR. Its not going to go away. And even if we get split, the best players will stay mainly on the mumble side and as i want to have quality gaming, im gonna stay on that side.
Please do not suggest that there are enough servers for us to be able to have mumble exclusive servers because I do not see how that is useful when we see less and less servers that have a decent amount of players in them. - And yes I play almost every night and can tell you first hand that numbers are on the decline something that saddens me deeply.
There are enough servers. Period.
...Or that you should kick me because I do not own and can not afford a sound card that keeps up with VOIP, TS3, mumble and PR at the same time...
I have integrated motherboard soundcard and i can run everything just fine...

I only wish Mumble would be enforced on every single server and installed automatically with PR etc. Or better yet be 100% integrated in PR.

people should give mumble a chance it grows on your sort of like steam at first its annoying making you want to destroy your PC, but in time you learn to like it.
if some community demanded TS and i liked their server i would have no problem with installing it

I just want to say that mumble users (including me) often gets really upset when trying to talk to guys in a mumble-rule server that aren't in mumble. Example: "Hey, APC there is infantry in the house in front of us... APC... APC ARE U ON MUMBLE?!" Just annoying. Like the most answers before i will say, non-mumble users join a diffrent server, please, it is best for everyone.

Like said before, there is a lot of servers with mumblers and non mumblers playing together. Even tho it's a bit annoying when you're talking to a guy and it appear he's not on mumble, but we make do.
I often play on PRTA where every one have to be on mumble, but servers like NWA only kicks non mumbler when server is full and a mumbler user want to join.
I also often played with HeroS and other french clans that dont use mumble without any problem in NWA or other servers. (tip : at least one squad member should be on mumble to communicate with other squads, make things easier and everyone s happy!)
I dont really see your point in htis thread as you are completely free to join any server without mumble rules, but let us play the way we like it on mumble rule servers...

If you cant be bothered to run/install/download Mumble, stay off PRTA. If the server requires you to be on Mumble to play there, you have to be on Mumble to play there. Im sure other servers will be happy to have you.
