I am 90% sure that was just a stupid posed-picture from airsoft; and it is EXPECTED of players who dress up in NATO gears to do some stupid **** like that.

Us Eastern Bloc comrades are not like that:

As for the M16; be glad it is not all Magpul'ed up. If I see an AFG on PR's m16 I will throw up and go get a Type95 lmg to mow down those idiots with crappy-looking guns.

I usually don't do Automatic Rifle; but when I do, I shoot the capitalists with bad-looking guns.

No M16 is a nice gun accurate, small recoil, able to use good holo-sights and optics + SOPMOD.But they got very dearly gun, only ACOG is ~$600-800.And they got not simple mechanics thats in AK for example.

Even if I want to use holo-sight on a rifle; I would do what the FSB did.

I've suggested this before but If PR were to swap out the current front grips on the M4/M16 platforms with grip pods instead, there would actually be a reason for having grips on the platforms asides the fact that they are becoming regularly used by individual soldiers/marines. Asides the main function/use of a front grip, accuracy in the prone position would increase. Only down side I see and PR may have already concluded is that it would essentially create the M4/M16 into a marksmen rifle and would encourage if anything long range firefights and "sniper like" roles rather then the majority of a faction pushing/capturing an objective. Also, unless ALL factions are giving grip pods, every other faction excluding US Army/USMC would be at an disvantage when it comes to prone position engaging.

Plus, there are probably not enough slots to include the option to deploy the grip pod.

Almost all of us do. I'm finder it more rare now to see a rifle without a foregrip on it.

Actually the Marines in PR seem to be carrying the M4, so you don't need to worry.
Just to clear up this, a lot of them in-game still have m16s. Only NCOs and certain MOS's carry around M4s really, so it makes sense that a regular rifleman and a few other classes carry m16s, while the squadleader (again, usually an NCO), plus whatever other "unique" class is in the squad have them.

In the game, it's definitely just eye-candy, and even IRL sometimes. I like to hold my rifle right on the magazine well most of the time, unless of course we're at the range or something doing (U)KD ranges. It makes it feel more genuine to me at least, so I like that.

I'm still waiting to see useable PEQ-15s on the rifles so infantry can help spot targets for thermal enabled vehicles. >_>

i think the standard usmc rifleman should have no foregrips while the alt should keep the foregrip. Yes i know this is an old thread but still worth considering.
