Making a whole new map is not necessary. Just adding something that looks like a giant dropship to an already existing map is more than enough.
Well when it comes to the aliens, apart from changing the soldier and weapon features,
something humorous like simply making them blue or completely black may work. Or maybe someone already has a redarded looking alien geometry. We do not need more than one alien kit since they will be highly capable.
I am not sure if any of the devs are interested though.

Honestly, I love alien games.
E.g. I really enjoyed Crysis 2.
And yes, I'd really enjoy a game that takes alot of realism, and then juxtopposes it with a asymertical force of alien origin in a MP setting much like BF2.
However, such a project isn't going to happen in BF2, it just couldn't do an alien conflict justice tbh. Unless the offworld mod has been doing spectatular things under the radar.
the effects of any advanced tech would be pretty naf etc, and its really a huge undertaking that doesnt really mesh with the rest of the mod, nor with the common interests of the DEV team. (not all of us like sci fi, though personally I am a sci fi nutcase, that my birthday is so similar to the registration number of the USS enterprise NCC 1701 -17th Jan- from star trek is a sign from the heavens that I was destined to love scifi!)
There are a couple of great looking alien FPS games in the pipeline, perhaps one of them will have reasonable moddability and MP capabilities to get what you, and I, seek.

There's a cool video out there in Arma II (that I saw in Arma II Video section) portraying an alien invasion but I only think that was for a movie. If there's a server running it + a game mode, then please correct me.
I'm not against this or Zombies, but I think it's a little too late for both. It would take the very least a year or so (especially without the DEVs support) and by then you will see a migration to Arma II R for sure. So to all that are interested in starting a project of this nature, you should anticipate this and go to Arma II.

Why do the aliens have to be technologically superior? Why not xenomorph-like aliens? Fast, agile and can get across most obstacles with ease, wouldn't it be a little more awesome to against a horde of these with realistic weapons and gear?
EDIT: no wait, it wouldn't, hitboxes would suck.

i would also love an alien submod. Re acting movies is what to me is the main reasons i started gaming. I love these epic moments i saw in movies and then be able to play myself ingames and feel the adrenaline.
Saving private ryan omaha beach : fh1 omaha beach
band of brothers jumping on dday out of plane : call of duty
...
so many great gaming moments linked to movies.
hell even if its only one map like battle of LA, im all ears! I would see it as a insurgents mod, only this time, the isnurgents have very strong weapons and need to protect the alien command cache at all costs, even with their lives as alien shield.

with 60 forums replies, one guy saing "why not aliens"??? Mate plase... try to fight more, to enjoy more the game and to leran more in the Pr forum and u can see waht its the PR direction...
If u want to see a aliens game with realistic envoirment hahaha look for... but think well, two concepts incompatible

To be quite honest... I love the idea of a game that has some pop-corn movie feel but the grounding of PR.
I doubt it will ever happen, but honestly I've always loved the idea, think it happened after I saw The Incredible Hulk, of a game like PR ViP but the ViP was this super powered baddie who would fuck your shit up bad.
Their is a game mod for TF2 where a player is Saxton Hale and everyone else must kill him. Idk... its a cool concept in theory but as an actual MP game it fails and can not work in PR. The biggest issue you'd have would be that everyone would want to be the super player.
That being said I'd love a PR2142 ;D

or the aliens from battle LA, they were barely superior other then the fact that they can make a ship of that size fly.

I don't see the issue in that myself
realistic does not explicitly mean a 100% recreation of real life. That would probably be some kind of simulation.
a game that put a recreation of a modern military force against an alien force that is equipped according to what could be described as realistically 'plausible' would definately deprive me of some monies to give it a try.
That interstellar marines game thats a WIP kinda follows that logic a little iirc, but instead of a recreation vs a plausible force its 2 plausible forces.
