I unwrapped the whole weekend. But its done.
Quick bake test with 4k resolution. I made settings in 15 min so there is some wawening and overlapping.
In photoshop i just resized the textures to 2k. so these pictures are in 2048*2048 Ao diffuse and normal map.

Probably minor details from the high poly when he baked it that aren't in the low-poly mesh.

The black spots are the ao from hipoly door hinge system. Im going to copy the low poly part from the front door.
But yeah, I didnt copy all the low poly parts where they need to be.
Today after work ill optimize little bit the uv and make proper bake. After that ill copy the low poly parts where they need to be

Are you using some particular renderer/shader to view the normal map on the model? Mine really bad on the model, even if the normal itself is good and smooth on that area.

Yeah, im using xoliul shader. Very easy to install. You just need to restart using directd 3d driver and apply the material.

Ye looking good, but don't forget that for use ingame the textures will need to be downsized quite a bit, to around 1024x1024px for the main sheet so a lot of the normal detail you see now will unfortunately be lost, but will still look awesome none the less and you should do all your textures in as high rez as possible for future proofing, although wouldn't go above 4096 at the very most, 2048 would be a good size to work at

Yeah most likely should have stated first that the standard for BF2/mods vehicles is a 2048x1024 texture.

Heh, would be nice if a lot of our vehicle's textures were in that size too. At this point it doesn't matter.

I havent baked yet. So it would be possible to change to 2x1k.

Its done!!
Now ill start doing the text part of my final thesis. When I get that from my shoulder ill do the rest. 1p cabin, 3p cabin and lods and cols. But the main thing is done! Yeah! Whoo!
I want to thank you all for all the help and comments! It has been crazy 3 months for me. But without you guys it would have been even more crazy
Now its using 1k textures. the 4k textures are of course much more better

Could add scratches around the doors and so forth, especially under the specular map. Other wise looks good so far.
EDIT: Also don't forget the woodland variant.
And when you're finished if so kindly send us the psds in case we need to change anything, it's often hard to change something when there's no psds
