Great app, the sound is very clear and the latency exellent. I did set up the options like in Fuzzhead post but I can't get the positional system to work  The ingame 3d sounds of pr does work so my headphones can render 3d audio.

Is there something to add if I am wearing headphones?? I did check the headphone box in the audio wizard.

Any help from people having succeded will be appreciated.

Edit: Good timing, Fuzzhead post got here while I was writing mine, I'll try the new bf2.dll Thanks

And then when you go in the Tcombat server, you just press the mumble shortcut and people around you will hear?

I went in the mumble server for tcombat and pr server, and i could hear everyone no matter how far away they are

EDIT: lord. helmet, there are 2 places i saw where you hit "Headset" ,one in the wizard and one in

Mumble audio output configuration
Mumble volume attenuation

- check the "Headphones" box (if using headphones).
- minimumdistance - 1m
- bloom - 100%
- maxdistance - 100m
- minimumvolume - 1% (the only reason this is not set to 0% is because of a bug in the current snapshot version. A post will be made when this is fixed.)
BTW, i press something on my keyboard and all the letters in this forums became tiny

I downloaded mumble via the link in Fuzzheads post, but when i hit configure -> settings i only get 4 tabs. The Audio output one is missing for some reason?

There should be a box called "expert settings" or something, have that checked.

Go to Configure > Settings > User interface and check the expert config box

LMAO, I didn't even know you were recording that time! Curse the blue guy that shot him afterwards...

  • 9. Navigate to "C:\Program Files\Mumble\plugins" and replace the current BF2.dll plugin with this one:
http://d0t.dbclan.de/dump/bf2.dll ((if you don't do this, there is a good chance 3D audio won't work on 4km maps)
that fix is already inside no need to replace it, see the SVN Repository:

I have used Mumble for a long time and contribute to its development. I suggest setting up registration scripts so that people who join your server can register themselves and have a way to set up groups (for clans, etc). You can use the pre-built registration script if you are hosting the server on Linux (which I hope you guys are :D ).

Also, you might want to change "Root" on your server name to "Project Reality Mumble" or something such as that. To do this simply open your murmur.ini and find "#registerName=Mumble Server". Remove the # and change "Mumble Server" to "Project Reality Mumble" or whatever you choose. If you use icedemo.php (SourceForge.net Repository - [mumble] Log of /trunk/scripts/icedemo.php) to implement these changes, no server reboot is required for the changes to become effective.

It's on windows, not linux. Name has been changed but it will require a restart and should show in the browser now as well.

I hear some voices strangely.

They are sped up and sound like comic voices...

Not all but some of them.

Anyone know the problem?

'[PR wrote:Sgt.Jigsaw;221462']One thing that I think must be incorporated however is the ability to talk either normally (as if your just talking) or speaking into a radio. I noticed on the main PR mumble thread that the tutorial video posted by fuzzhead suggested that you could set it so you could only hear people close to you (eg. bloke in an A-10 2000m up will never be heard), or you could do it so you can hear every1 but still with the same postional audio enhancement.

What I think should be done is have 2 separate buttons so you can still talk to that A-10 pilot over radio but when you are talking to your squad you press a separate button which simulates you just speaking normally.

So in short as well as whispers they would need to be extra special l33tmothaf*cka whispers :p

Would probably be quite complicated but could be done methinks.
Nice like the idea of this. For extreme realism you could have every1 on the server in the same mumble channel so you could hear enemy talking nearby etc.

However please refer to the above comment regarding the setting that allows you to select either to hear every1 on the server or just those who are near you.

Would mean you could still communicate with support elements but talk normally with your squad.

a new snapshot release has been made, please see the new general discussion sticky with an updated installation guide : https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f10-pr ... de-pr.html

@ Marcel : If you'd like to make a new video tutorial for the above, please post it up here and I'll implement it into the sticky :)

Guys, some friends are having problems, their mumble just mute their sond and microfone without their knowledge. Does anyone have any idea why ?

And I'm loving this program, the experience is amazing !
[R-DEV]OkitaMakoto:"Cheers, you're the man, Okita"
[R-DEV]Rhino:"I in fact got kicked from a server for tking."
Hitperson:"well done, treasure it forever."
[R-DEV]Adriaan:"Damned classy Roma, if I may say so."
[R-DEV]Chuc:"Pro man, pro."
(yes, it was about me)

I saw this on the server when I woke up, great to see this many people on but isn't it better if both teams are in the same channal? That way you can hear the enemy talk.

Is there any chance to mix team channel voices some amount? So you don't hear the enemy talking so clearly but it would be possible...

The result of using mumble in game:

I was the squad leader in Barracuda, all my squad was using mumble.

I'm confused, I can bet (if settings are easy enough...) it'll be quite immersive and a lotta fun but surely (or surely not? :S) a squad using mumble will be outdone by a squad using standard in game VOIP...?

On the one hand mumble can let you know roughly where everyone is by the sound of their voice, on the other hand standard voip you can hear what they say no matter where they are, surely that's an advantage?

You can use both i suppose, like people sometimes use both VOIP and TS. However here the ingame voip or TS would be like radio comms and mumble talking to someone.

Want ammo from the guy next to you not in your squad? mumble.
Want supply truck from across the map? Use TS or ingame voip and ask CO for support

Want to tell the chopper your in to go to X place, but approach from y angle so nme in Z can't see you? Mumble
Want a chopper to come pick you up? Again TS or talk to the CO in ingame voip.
