And when you're finished if so kindly send us the psds in case we need to change anything, it's often hard to change something when there's no psds :D .
and in case you don't have time to make the WL textures yourself, we have so many talented DEVs who would love to do them, right? :)

Once the main texture is done its pretty easy to add a woodland colour/camo underneath all the detail, as its the small details on the texture that go over the main colour that takes the time to do :)

This is ofc assuming the .psd has been setup with layers so this can be done.

I made it that its very easy to change stuff. All I need is to make woodcamo basic color in mudbox and ill just put it as bottom layer ps. Then I have woodcamo diffuse with all the goods :)

A question that has bothering me from the beginning. Is it okay if I make the lods and cols but let somebody experienced do the exporting? I really dont have time to learn bf2 editor all over again and all the jinxes with it :(

Ill rather contribute more art stuff and focus on that.

Yes that's how its normally done, its pretty uncommon for someone to both make the model and export it since each are pretty different skill sets.

What about this thing (see image, green plate with a white cross), do you have it modeled? It seems to be on every german military vehicle but I have no idea what it's called.

At a guess looks like some kind of IED electronic counter measure to me but can't be sure.

Really nice work Surround :)


the White Cross is called "Leitkreuz" and lighten the driver to drive in a column at night and offroad.
its easier to see @ night if you are driving in "combat mode" which means you shut down your lights and if at all drive with special lights that cant be located from big distances
its the Remanent of the machine spirit's former body
its an anti-chemical-bilogical vehicle and the "hand" can be used to move things

Thanks, Andy! I had always guessed it was some sort of military tradition to put that on vehicles. And it does look pretty good in my opinion.

if you could do the lods, cols and a wreck model (no new model needed) we can handle the rest ourselves (export and coding).

this isnt the Fuchs 1A8 version, this is the NBC version of the Fuchs

Yup, I couldn't find any photos of the regular Fuchs with the cross visible during my quick google search. Plenty of Marders, Dingos and Leopards though.

Check Prime Portal, they usually have good references on common vehicles.

One point though, I would suggest you to convert your model to MAX9 before making cols and lods, you will save time this way, otherwise, you'll have to fix every model of your scene after the convertion. ;)

Outstanding work Surround, low-poly and high-poly modeling, UVmapping, texturing, you've a complete 3D artist skillset. :)

I wish you all the best for the future if you keep going in this field. ;)

Thank you all again :)

About my schedule. I have to make presentation of my model at 13-15.5

Before that I have to do 20 page essay and the presentation. I hate writing so its going to take all my time :D

Before that I really dont have time to do PR related stuff, so sorry :( After presentation Ill concentrate on the lod col stuff and add that small plate with the cross ;)

Propably after that ill do the gun thing in the roof.

I need some beauty shots of this model. Does it need lots of work to put into PR as a static object?
I dont need ingame action pictures, only few screenshots in the engine :3

Still needs LODs, COLs, coding to have it ingame as a working vehicle atleast.
