I've paid for a slot, yet I cannot join when it's full. It's been sitting at 64/64 for a while now...
Great.

Smeg - you have to just grab an admin in mumble or teamspeak and we'll fix it. It's hard to monitor the player counts constantly when you're busy being killed every 60 seconds.

BUT IT'S SO FRUSTRATING! lol, yeah, it just takes a few minutes really, I was just being impatient.

Himalde wrote:The SM thing, here is my thought on it, but that is only an idea form my part. You could set the numbers of reserved slots to 4, and kick no one. This would mean that if you are on the server you can stay there as long a you want. This will make people help seed the server (not that you have a problem with filling it, and new slots go only to supporting members. And maybe reduce the time before afk kick to 15 min and it might work. This would also be very fair to those without paying membership, you will then not get in when it's full, but the rest of the time you can. SMs could risk not getting in, but if the average time someone plays is 4 hours, you will then have one disconnect on average every 4th minute, (remember the slot will not get filled by any other then SM. So getting in should not be that hard (for SMs), since you are almost guaranteed that next slot.

This minute or two would be even longer if your idea was implamented Himalde. This is where the kicking of the longest person helps to cycle the player base and allow Sms to join. There have been times that as a supporting member if I hadn't asked an admin to make room on the server i would have had to wait 5 minutes so I can understand how its anooying to wait so long to join the server as a non-supporting member and be kicked after 30 mnutes because I've been there too. The recent crowding i find is because of like many mentioned many people bought SMs just for the reserved spot and many TG regulars came back from a break and are back to playing full time.
Since things will calm down soon(it usually does, but maybe not in 0.9 hopefully) I would say non-SMs should just give it time and find another great server to play on because nothing is going to change with the SM system. As for changeing the system i don't think it should be changed or will be for many of the reasons stated especially concerning the fact that TGisn't just about PR. Also just that I don't want the price to be increased unless the operators of TGneed more money not for it to become more exclusive.

What, how? His idea has literally been practices over the few last days, with the kick-script off. The only difference is two and not four reserverd slots, meaning the minute or two would be
less. 64/64 has only occurred during peaks, and only at very few minutes at a time.
I think it's been working great, and if you (plural) disagree i really want you to tell me why.
The only downside of Himalde's idea, is non-SM can practically only join when map changes.

No matter what is done, there are only so many spaces for people to fight over so
someone won't be able to join.

The Below is straight from the TG Forums:

I'm tired of seeing incidents where people go right up to the walls of the base, especially people wearing TG tags. Enough is enough. From this point forward, anyone wearing TG tags that gets within 100m of the British main as a Taliban is going on a vacation.
Thanks.

The dome of death on Lashkar is bugged, allowing Taliban to freely enter the British main. While we do allow insurgent/taliban to attack the mains on TG, having them directly enter or even get next to the hesco barriers is just ridiculous. Just stay away from it and hopefully there is a patch released in the very near future that will make stupid rules like this unnecessary.

About the suggestion to increase the cost of supporting memberships; people who play PR aren't the only supporting members at TG. There are plenty of other community members who have SMs and play other games, or just enjoy the forums. I doubt all these people would be pleased if the price of SMs was raised just to discourage their use on the TG PR server.
Then thats a vivid reason why the price of a TG SM does not accurately reflect its value. Arguably, one could say it is infact worth more money because it offers more than simply a PR SMship.
Which raises thie issue that, if a relevant price is to be applied, an individual
TacticalGamer-Project Reality Supporting Membership would have to come into existence. But I doubt the probability of that happening, as it wwould probably be difficult to do.
I think we're gonna have to accept that the price of a TG SMship is flawed and move on.

Yeah, its real bad for a non-SM too. Its like waiting in a cue,
before a waiting line!

I'm very satisfied with the service I've received as a subscriber, thanks for the fantastic games lately lads.
.9 has been hard to get used to, but TG is the place to get used to it in.
Though the TOW spam can get very annoying, and I see the TG community is annoyed by it as well.

Hello TG Admins/members,
I must say that it's such a pity that your server is in North America and not in Europe.
I, and I guess I can speak for my clan mates at Lost Platoon, had a really great time on your server running Kashan Desert last night/this morning. We totally forgot about the time and played until 4 o'clock in the morning (CET) and disconnected without ending the round after we finally noticed how late it was (
I actually intended to go to bed at about 12-1 o'clock in the morning). Very mature behaviour of your community and nice admins doing their jobs proper and easy - more servers should be like yours!
Cmd.
