'[R-MOD wrote:Mongolian_dude;1079540']Certainly.
To get something down means to accomplish, learn or finish something. If you learn to play a song on the guitar, you have got it down.
Clearer? What did you think I meant?

I would so love a proper amphibious assault map with tons of these AAVPs being launched from the essex and cobras and hueys and harriers and maybe even ospreys and OMG I WANT IT

okay update coming up:
Image
all the different parts of the vehicle have been uv'ed only thing that lacks still is the piping etc. and the tracks (which don't share the same texture anyway so won't share this uvw sheet)

progress is going okay but Tom if i see you on xfire or msn I hope that it's okay i send the files over for you to have a look at and to crit on. probably quite a few things that i still need to learn and that can be optimized.

motherdear out

I perceive the little pieces of Win coming together, to achieve glory. This is a prime example.

McLuv wrote:It looks expertly made, motherdear. I hope you bother to include an interior, however, as they add so much more to the overall experience, and you would get my all loving seal of approval :D
YES!

Thanks for the xfire motherdear, that interior is legit. I can't wait to see this ingame. Provided the Mk 19 comes along, this next release is going to be the best since they remodeled all the American Weapons, and thats saying something! Excellent work! Keep it up!

Also, can't casings on the floor be done with textures, along with some of the other details? You want to keep the interior fairly low poly, completeing most of the small details through creative texture work. Unless, of course, you'll be using the high poly interior to make a low poly texture bake.

well rat still on xfire with ya as i am writing this, but if you look at the inside of the LAV-III you will see that the bullets have been imported and put on the floor, not sure if i will do this yet but aiming for a tri count of 3-4k depending on what i see on the ref pics, as i did with the aav i am going to make this have what it needs and then take stuff out or edit them if needed, as i stated in the start of this thread it's both for the experience and for the community that i am doing this. so i gain experience from making the props properly without to much compromise but still optimized for the engine of course and the community.

okay so began some huge constructive work inside the vehicle itself, i realised that it was one huge compartment with both crew and soldiers in the same area but it was hard to see on the ref pics i had that it had the depth that it did.
so i have added the slot for the turret gunner to be in and will begin adding the details over there at the moment and then i will move on to the driver/commander seats next (still need to add that section in)

update screen here:

as you can see i also made a jerry can for the scene and some other minor stuff.
