Obviously it's because the admins just don't care.

Seriously, was there an admin on at the time? If there wasn't one in-game did anyone try to find one in teamspeak or reach one via x-fire? Did anyone hop out to their browser and post in the Contact an Admin forum that the server is lagging like a mofo and the map needs to be advanced? Or is it just easier to deal with it and then come here and complain?

Lack of admins? I can think of one that recently resigned, so we're short one right now. Is that where the shortage is?

If you need an admin, there are multiple means of contacting them, many of which I've already mentioned above. All of the admins are real people, with real lives away from their PC in general and PR in particular. We're not paid police officers whose beat is the PR server. Work with us a little bit to help make your gaming experience better. Expecting 24/7 coverage is a little insane. Use the tools we provide to communicate issues to us so we can help you. If there are problems and you don't report them to us in a timely manner, who is at fault? Us, or you?

Actually, dont quote me on it, but I think there might have been 1-2 admins on. Its quite hazy in memory, but I think people were just told to stop spamming. Then again, players say that just as much as any admin, so I cant recall properly im afraid.

Yes, there were indeed admins on at the time. I ended up leaving, so I'm unsure if anything became of the server afterward. I heard it crashed soon after.

Nonetheless, Tactical Gamer is the only server I frequent when I'm looking for a good round.

I wasn't really complaining (or was I?) IDK :-P . However you may have interpreted it, it was merely meant as criticism ;)

Unfortunately the barracks only lists the maps where you finished loading the map following the map it lists (which is why you got the one before). Only supporting members have access to all BFR files on the server whether they played there or not, and even that is limited to a couple of days.

Aimed, can you give the name of the map, the approximate length of time it was played, the approximate time it ended and your timezone? All this information will be needed to determine which battlerecorder file to download because the files are only labeled with the date and time of the file's creation and its size.

question:

when your server crashes (like it just did), why do you keep skirmish running for so long? why not switch to aas right away and get a proper game going? people will want to play aas and will join that just as likely as skirmish.

as a matter a fact, me and a mate are in the server list waiting for skirmish to be over before joining, and i'm sure we're not alone.

Some people enjoy skirmish, and often players do ask for it to be left to play out before rolling to the next map. It also gives plenty of time for the server to fill before starting the larger maps.

On the contrary, i bet alot of players would also think "argh server crashed, only 20 people in... ill wait till it fills more before joining such a large map."

Anyway if the servers quite full Skirmish doesn't last long atall.

Personally I like the server to be near full when it switches to a regular sized map, playing a regualr map from 30 people just messes things up in the long run and a bit of skirmish isn't too bad.

Understood. It is frustrating when you've been playing a larger map with a full server only to have a crash cause everything you've worked for to be lost, and then to get on a skirmish map for a while is just no fun. A large part of the problem has been a lack of admin coverage lately. We're working to address this now and we will see improvement in this area in the very near future. In the meantime, we hope to see you back and enjoying your gaming time with us!

I've been banned here for nearly a year and still don't know why. I remember it being a decent server. In-game name ViktorAce
