What I do is take cover in a safe position, place the gun low so it doesn't stick in the air and then zoom in on my position and check the map using the compass on who I think is an enemy. North of compass is north of your position in map, and estimating 300m distance to an estimated map location.
It's all trail-and-error, don't worry if you don't get it right the first time.

Re: How to recognize the enemy from the friendly
With my experience I'd say MEC and US may be the hardest to recognize when they fight against each other. Their camo's colour is quite similar so when you're not used to their shape it may not be very helpful. Take some time to familiarize with uniform's shapes and geometries, it's in my opinion the handiest thing to make the difference between all factions.Sonix91 wrote:Thanks for the picture.
I found my self in the last couple of rounds much more confident at identifying possible targets. Mostly because I got used to check my map on a more frequent basis.
In my first rounds I was on a map with MEC and US-Army. It was a city map and it was quite hard to tell who is friendly or not. Expecially when it came down to housefighting/closequarter where fast reactions are mandatory. That was the cause why I posted here on the forums.
Now I have a better feeling for my sourrounding and my communication with the squad improved alot so it's quite easy to spot a target and get feedback from the squad if it's friendly or not and then open fire.
Off Topic:
I have so much fun with the game right now. I like that it is very slow paced at times and out of nothing hell opens up and you find yourself in an ambush and try clearing the situation without getting shot. Also the players are very friendly. If I tell them I'm new to the game they're quite helpfull and patient. Just love it.![]()
And try to keep camos' main colour in mind as well, some factions have their specific colour that can be easy to recognize usually, such as :
- Russian : dark green
- British : dark brown
- Chinese : dark grey/black
- IDF : green/brown
- Canadian : light brown/beige
