50%?
I have hit 99% off the lazed targets I have been firing on. moving and stationary.

But is that for direct hits or just a "near misses" is the questionExeTick wrote:50%?

Directly Hitting Lazed targets very much depends on key two factors:
1, (the most critical factor), how well the lase box is stuck on the target, or how close it is if its a soft target, if its a bad lase because either the guy doesn't have line of sight on the target or its poorly stuck on (most of the time no fault to the spotter) then the missile has no chance of hitting the target.
2, objects around the target that might block the aircraft and missile from seeing the target. If the lase is in the middle of a bunch of buildings, or in a forest, it wont be able to easily see it and if not, no chance of getting the lock in the first place, and in some cases where you can get the lock as the gunner, after firing the missile may loose sight of the target then veer off (although that's unlikely with current missile coding in PR)

If the target is in a bunch of buildings I use LG missile. I dont trust LT around buildings
I normally go for lazes from the spotter in my squad. it is easier to communicate with him if the laze is good or bad and when to come in. and usually I get a more exact location of my target.
and I just noticed how I wrote that^^ 99% hit with LT missile. that 1% is when I fire to fast before I have a lock on the laze and my missile fly straight forward..
I miss more with LG missile but it depends a little bit on my pilot how steady he is flying. allot of times I been gunning it have been stuttering and it affects my aiming.. and some pilots use A and D to stabilize and it throws me off target.

A modern attack helicopter does not need to hover still to fire. Nor does it need to be within 700m of the target. It can laser target and track vehicles itself.viirusiiseli wrote:What if I told you, that you don't need stabilization, but a pilot who flies steady. And also you don't need hellfire splash for killing a vehicle in the water, you just need to get a good mouse and a steady hand.
I know all this would be over the top in PR, but you can hardly say it is well represented if you are required to hover exactly steady, within range of the target. Not all of us have a ping of 5ms either.
What I am trying to say is, it may not be impossible to hover and get a steady shot, but it is certainly not as balanced as it should be.
I guarantee you, fly like you say and I will shoot you down very quickly.
"Today's forecast calls for 30mm HE rain with a slight chance of hellfires"

Re: Havoc and WZ10
Most of the time when I gun, it's with 160 ping. Ping only causes problems for the gun, not for missiles if you know where to aim. And it seems you don't understand that when I say fly steady I mean keep moving max speed but do not rock the heli etc. As long as you put any effort into being precise with the missiles its not a problem to hit targets even at 1km ranges.Alex6714 wrote:A modern attack helicopter does not need to hover still to fire. In my opinion CAS helicopter speed is perfect. I have videos which I will upload soon of me and my friend flying for more than an hour without getting shot down in multiple cases.
I love it the way it is now, because if feels more realistic. Always, when going for a run, I randomly pop flares, then on attack run 2-3 times and then when leaving the combat zone. Works all the time.
I can understand those 0.987 CAS guys that just want to hover high above and then go straight down from clouds while popping flares and nothing can get them. Of course nothing can get them when helicopter has the same speed as jet. Hated that, and thank you for changing it.
Again, love it the way it is now, just more flares would be nice.
Please, don't change the speed.

Entirely not the case as long as diving is removed.spirit03 wrote:I can understand those 0.987 CAS guys that just want to hover high above and then go straight down from clouds while popping flares and nothing can get them.
