I agree it's hopeless even when im in a squad it's boring and annoying, as a driver you have no power, in a chopper u atleast have your hydra.
It wouldn't be "unrealistic" to just have one man operated tank, there otehr things more important when making a game realistic rather then haveing a 3 man tank... ope your eyes people tanks i PR are hopeless and aren't the intimadating beasts they should be.

those of you saying that the armour driver has no weapons - you have to remember that the vehicle itself can be a devastating weapon itself by ramming enemy ligher vehicles
and the driver has the ability to slide out of the drivers seat into the 50 cal turret if it is unoccupied so there is no need to complain

1.41 is going to increase armour of MBT's so that Light AT will be pretty much useless against it. Hopefully they'll increase the firepower too.
I think that reloading should be faster in a 3 man tank then in a solo tank, it's not exactly realistic but it promotes teamwork. Actually you could say that with a gunner present a loader is present therefore reloading would be faster, if you want to give an explanation lol.

I understand the argument for staying with realism and the power of a well oil squad using one tank but the main focus here should be game play and how that reflects the reality of the situation. With the newest version of PR you see tanks acting more like stationary heavy guns than the tip of the spear offensive weapons that they are. I have been playing PR since the first release and the best part was that tanks were a true center of gravity in the game as in real life, but not anymore.
The squads are 100% correct in their point that a tank with 3 man crew all working together is more powerful than a single person but that does not translate into actual game play in PR, that is the exception not the rule. Tanks are now seen sitting in spawn unused for the most part of the rounds.
If a Tank( and I mean all armor here) is used it will most likely be by one person and is tactically useless. Also tanks are most effective when sitting stationary than on any type of offensive role in the new PR. In essence the new patch is comparable to reverting tanks to the French view of armored combat in pre WWII. Instead of the fast moving offensive weapon that they are on the modern battlefield, we see it forced in to a infantry support heavy gun role.
In your aim to make PR tanks and armor more realistic you have done the opposite. In modern combat a MBT is a offensive weapon that moves fluidly on the battlefield this is not represented at all in PR. Armor should be change back to the prevision versions to reflect the reality a MBT would have on the battlefield

agree with skeletor, the light AT being super powerful was not intentional and really hurts tank use...
that being said, i had a prety effective 6 man tank squad on qwai river as the chinese.... i did not loose my tank for the entire round!!! we held strong at fishing village and made a succesfull assault on the processing factory. of course tank2 kept blowing up but i blame it on the tank2 gunner

THE new tank system ROCKS becuase gunners can focus on killing totaly RATHER than worrying about not to hit the indestrucable LAmpost!!
Even when the driver is not in my squad, i still have a blast!
ON TOP OF this all the driver is a brillaint LOOK OUT, while the gunner is checking all sides for target the driver can call out any threat directly in front WHICH in general is where they are so all in all, the new system is bldy brill!!
