would like to bump this again. Optimum did just put in an arris modem at my parents house, but it was working fine for the past month (just started having the issue yesterday, modem was working fine for about 2 months). Anyone have any luck? its to the point where I join the server 3 times in a row and lost connection within 2 minutes. I've tried the pnkbstr service thing, disabling audio, lowering settings, changing the connection from LAN (why is default lan anyway?) back to cable, etc etc. I just opened the ports now so i'm gonna try that in a bit

THIS is how you solve it: access your router/modem interface, and DISABLE features like "DEEP PACKET INSPECTION" ! ! Those settings are the ONLY thing making your connection break after 2 minutes. All other things you mentioned you can edit back again.
