No they bleeding well didn't - the combined forces* of the USA, Great Britain and her colonies, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and resistance fighters all over occupied Europe and Asia won both fronts.

As for insurgents, I think they're supposed to be the pissed-off locals uprising in protest at USA/UK occupation following a sucessful capture of parts of the MEC by the US/UK forces.
